This was before the internet was really jumping off like it is today, so folks wasn't really dropping Diss Tracks the next day back then. Especially if you had an album coming up. You would wait to use a diss track to promote your album. So Mobb Deep was the only ones able to get a diss track off directed to Pac before he died.

Biggie made it when Pac was alive. He had been working on Life after Death since 95. He made this in 96 when Pac was alive but after Hit em up. After Pac died he changed the song because he liked it and still wanted to use it. Why do you think in the chorus for the original and the changed version he is saying its "time for you to die"? He is talking to a living person who he wants to kill. You dont say "its time for you to die" to someone who is already dead, that makes no sense. He kept the song because he loved it. Just like LL dissed Canibus in 4,3,2,1 then told Canibus about it but had Canibus change his verse so people wouldnt know he was talking about him because LL loved what he had made and wanted to keep it.
