People forget Pac was killed 3 months after Hit em up was released. This was before the internet was really jumping off like it is today, so folks wasn't really dropping Diss Tracks the next day back then. Especially if you had an album coming up. You would wait to use a diss track to promote your album. So Mobb Deep was the only ones able to get a diss track off directed to Pac before he died.

@@jayjadotte1683 correct...but my original point was directed at the thought that nobody had heart to diss Pac while he was alive...but cats not realizing Pac died only 3 months after releasing hit em up. So in that time frame only Mobb Deep had a album about to drop, so they was the only ones to get a diss record at Pac off before he died. No one was going to release their tracks after he died...and if they did, they just edited out certain parts so it wasn't a direct diss.

It couldn’t make it. He didn’t want to do it. He had some fire. But he didn’t want to make it too much. He just wanted to address it and to let nigga know, “I know what’s going on, and I could get wreck if I want to.” Like, “If I really wanted to get on ya niggas, I could.” Puff Daddy said: "Naaah. It was just some MC lyrics. I know people wanna have their imagination, but it was just lyrics. You’re hearing it from the horse’s mouth. I would tell the truth. Biggie made it when Pac was alive. He had been working on Life after Death since 95. He made this in 96 when Pac was alive but after Hit em up. After Pac died he changed the song because he liked it and still wanted to use it. Why do you think in the chorus for the original and the changed version he is saying its "time for you to die"? He is talking to a living person who he wants to kill. You dont say "its time for you to die" to someone who is already dead, that makes no sense. He kept the song because he loved it. Just like LL dissed Canibus in 4,3,2,1 then told Canibus about it but had Canibus change his verse so people wouldnt know he was talking about him because LL loved what he had made and wanted to keep it. Its hard to scrap a song that you feel is great.
