L was KILLING big .. Syllable wise, punch lines, double entendras... If anything, their story telling was equal. When you break the verses down "Scientifically" if you will, it's not hard to tell who was more lyrically advanced, just have to be honest.. Big rhymed 2 syllables maybe 3. Big L consistently rhymed 3, and often 4 and 5 syllables. Along with the clever double entendras that big rarely came up with. Punn as well. Goes way harder than big with the Rhyme schemes and syllables, and faster flow as well. Big had the "image" and of course New York needed someone. If not him, it be Jay or Nas at the time. I’m from California and I ain’t mad at that. BIG was/is the king of Brooklyn. But since his death, Jay-Z’s been trying to sit on the throne. But the problem is that the throne’s been surrounded by security guards, rottweilers, cane corsos, doberman pinschers and presa canarios!
