Basically if you surround yourself within an echo chamber of people who all believe one thing (whether they say they think it, feel it, believe it, or even seen it) you yourself will fall within the same thinking whether it's true or not. Whether you might feel embarrassed to go against the crowd or you actually begin to believe it yourself or start feeling the same way or otherwise, it's a psychological effect of how the human brain is wired and its why free speech and thinking for yourself is so crucial especially nowadays

Basically if the mass majority of people believe the wrong thing or what the media has told them, that means most to all will believe the same and anybody who says otherwise will be figuratively and literally beat down by the crowd or discredited if they say or think otherwise, questioning things and thinking critically becomes "conspiracy" and the general public is easier to control. I'm not even some conspiracy nut but most will be conditioned to believe I am if they read completely through what I've said. Anything I've said is just a sum of what I've seen happen within my own lifetime from 2000 to the present. I think it was especially exemplified during covid lockdown when the majority said we'd be fine after 30 days of lock down and the minority tried to warn them it wouldn't end. Then 30 days became 90, then 90 days became 180, then 180 days became a year, and we only became more tense and more divided as a country because of it.
