I can relate to everything you guys said. Been a ND fan all my life. I didn't go to school there, I've been criticized for being a fan of an "arrogant" program. I've never understood the criticism. Half my friends are Illini fans, and they didn't go to U of I, but I never hear anyone say anything about that. I've taken a few non ND fans to ND games and some of them understand how special a place it is. Love thee. Go Irish.

You can get a quality education at most universities and for those driven and focused kids who pursue their education with diligence they can do great on and off the field at any program. But the plural of anecdote is not data. And the data doesn’t lie - most of these football programs don’t actively enable and facilitate their players’ education. They tolerate it so they can remain eligible. And that’s an unfortunate, missed opportunity for many kids who aren’t mature enough to recognize and take advantage of the opportunity their scholarships present for their lives beyond the field.
