And when I see people call Novak "arrogant"! He has such a huge potential, on and off court. He has a capacity to discuss and lead in many topics. Can you imagine Federer or Nadal discussing war traumas, from Serbia, Syria or from anywhere else??? Life lesson : you should always be kind to anyone and anywhere, because you never know what they are going through. Novak is amazing. A person like him is born once in a couple of centuries.
@yellowsocks7934 Жыл бұрын
once every couple of centuries? I know lots of people like Novak. Obviously not with his tennis skills, but as a person, these good people are everywhere. Novak is amazing, but there are also so many amazing people in this world. But yes, we do need MORE people like this!

This is why none of the other tennis players can't compare to him. His stamina, mindfulness and resilience on or off the court are so inspiring. To survive a war, come from humble home and still strive for his love - tennis , is a heroic thing to do. To become No 1 and join the greatness in a such a short time proves how extraordinary talent he posses. How many of us would break down, lose hope or feel petty for ourselves in these conditions. My sport idol, amazing athlete, talented and intelligent Novak Djokovic.

The entire interview is just great, but if u listen after the 40th minute or so, he talks about how he managed to stay unbeaten in the 40+ matches streak for about 6 months and the reasons for that. Also, he mentions the low point of his carrer one year earlier , afterwards discovering that he didn't play the game for the right reasons, for the joy of it, for the love of it, for the childish dreams that he had. He rediscovered himself in that magical 2011 year, not just as a tennis player but as a person as well. To me this is just very inspirational. I find this man to be the perfect role model. He is absolutely brilliant, and a magnificent champion ! Idemoo Nole , you will forever have my respect and admiration !

Wow I'm impressed you did an interview also with Novak. Amazing to hear him talk about his experience and how it shaped him as a human being. I was born in 1987 like Novak but a few hundreds of miles away in Prague in former Czechoslovakia and I remember how my parents strongly disagreed with the bombing of Yugoslavia in 1999, although it was portrayed as "humanitarian bombing" by the media. Thanks to living abroad in different European countries and travelling I had the chance to meet some Serbians who opened up to me and told me very similar stories like Novak just did, we listened together to touching Serbian songs coming from those times and I was admiring the strength and courage that many of them took away from this life experience. Serbs are incredibly proud of Novak Djokovic, Nikola Tesla and other outstanding characters. This interview made me a bit nostalgic now of the time spent with my Serbian friends and former boyfriend.. The way Novak speaks is very typical Serbian, it sometimes resembles almost a poetry.. @Lewis, I love that you bring to your show also people who are not just from the English-speaking Western countries (US, Canada, Australia, NZ) but also other regions so that your audience can learn also about other cultures and get to know wonderful people from these parts of the world.
