Can you record into the Launchpad sequencer with Chord Mode?
@marshalsea0004 жыл бұрын
This is so useful. Although I can't seem to get mine into @13:21 Sequnecer Mode, which sounds like something Arnie would be involved in, He wants our kicks, our bass, and our random hihat sequences.

Thanks for the video. Can you record into the sequencer unquantized? I'm a big fan of the Circuit workflow and that was possible with a more recent firmware. Hoping it is here too.

That random mode could be helpful for metal songs where there are breakdowns that focus on unique and sometimes "random" or interesting rhythms.

so how many sounds does it have if u just use it as a stand-alone sequencer ?.. great video.. very helpful
@GetintheMix4 жыл бұрын
The Launchpad has 16 separate MIDI channels. It's important to note the Launchpad doesn't make any sounds on it's own, but rather operates as a sequencer for your other bits of gear.

I would like to know if it is possible to use the sequencer AND live loop in ableton at the same time. Say I had one person using the Launchpad pro using 4 tracks in ableton , then another person using 4 tracks in the same ableton glove set doing different instruments and creating clips. Is this possible?
@joshhillarious3 жыл бұрын
When I change between channels at the bottom just like you do it doesn't change to the different midi's I have set up. I don't understand :( The colours change like yours but even if I have a drum beat synth and a bass sound on different midi's in my ableton when I click the different channels it just stays on the drums ?

When I am in the Sequencer Steps mode: Is there any way I can change the "instruments/channels" without having to go over the Sessions/Record Arm Tab? I would love to "record/add" different Instruments to the 32 Sequencer Grid with simply just selecting the next instrument/channel via the small colored buttons from (the second row) at the bottom. Big help. Thanks!

Hey, maybe you've found it by now, but on your Launchpad Pro you can go to Session > Press/Hold Record Arm > Simultaneously press the tracks you want to control. That way you can have several tracks armed and control them via the sequencer's 4 channel interface. Needless to say it's advised to set each track with a different MIDI Channel, as to avoid overlap.

Hello, i have a question. 🙂 I have Novation Launchpad pro mk3 and i need help. I’m use sequencer in drum mode and make whole beat with multiple samples there. In that case i have few samples at one step (example kick and snare). My question is can i use probabilty option on that step only on snare, or probabilty option only work on that step with all of elements on it? Tnx!

Just bought one of these and your videos are very useful! One question - On the probabality setting you said that choosing just the very left pad of the row of 8, it would set it to an 18% chance of playing, would it not be 12.5% per each button as there are 8 buttons so they would be 12.5% 25% 37.5% 50% 62.5% 75% 87.5% 100%
@GetintheMix2 жыл бұрын
Yes it seems that was a slight error on our part - sorry! You're on the right lines. Novation round these figures up though, so it would be 13%, 25%, 38%, 50%, 63%, 75%, 88%, 100%. Hope that helps and thanks for pointing out the error.

My undo redo buttons do not work even when i press shift first . Its really annoying not having undo redo to the point of i stopped trying to use the mk3 as a sequencer and just use my push 1. I have reinstalled the firmware a few times now and still no fix.

Question - Can you preload samples and use them after the launchpad has been disconnected from the PC? Also, is it possible to create your own scales? Do they have to be heptatonic? Are odd time signatures compatable?
@GetintheMix4 жыл бұрын
There is no on-board storage on the launchpad and requires either a computer or connected hardware (such as a synth) to be getting audio. We understand the scales to be as they are and not changeable. As for the odd time signatures, we're not sure on that one! May be best to contact Novation, and if not and they might consider it in a firmware update.
@MegaTwistD3 жыл бұрын
Yes you can change the time signature by changing the pattern size and changing the time signature in ableton

Where are my projects saved or stored and how do you name them.
@GetintheMix4 жыл бұрын
When you save a project, you save it to one of the 64 pads on the launchpad as shown in the video. These are not named, just assigned their designated pad. You can however back your projects up online using Novation Components here: components.novationmusic.com/ Not 100% sure but this may give you the option to name them.

Good tutorial, the only complaint is your well lit room. The camera barely picks up the colors from the pads on the Launchpad. You basically have to squint like an 80 year old at the computer screen to see what you're doing. Maybe next time less direct light on the Launchpad? :)

Can the "print to clip" function also print the pattern to Ableton? #printToclip
