Hi Gary, I hope Trump does stop taxes on Social Security, that would be great for a lot of us. I was surprised that my house insurance only went up a little compared to last year so I was happy, but I also have flood and sinkhole insurance. Thanks for the nice comments. I had heard that my carrier was trying to get out of Florida for the Homeowners portion but didn’t want to lose my other business. So the best way for them to do that was to increase my rates which pushed me out without ticking me off by sending me a cancellation notice. Happy Thanksgiving as well.

Would love to see you do 1 special episode on both car & HOUSE insurance-- compare your own (or friends) insurance companies rates for Villages houses, say a $500,000 house, what are top 3 companies and average rates, given all else being equal (and going up drastically again after these last 2 big hurricanes?)

I think the app is still private and they may have to use the unofficial in the name since they don’t have the Villages permission to use their name on a product/app. Just my guess.

Not taxing SS would only benefit the upper 40% of beneficiaries while depleting the trust fund sooner. Republicans also want to eliminate the WEP which will also deplete the trust fund sooner. Republicans are always for eliminating taxes but provide no means to replace the shortfalls.

Based on my experience with the Highway Trust fund which the fund ran out of trust fund money a number of years ago since congress wouldn’t raise the gas tax. They just used general fund money to replace the shortfall. Same is going to happen here as no politician is going to cut social security. Plenty of other programs will get cut way before social security.
