For seed storage I use a tight steel cookie/cake tin. It gives it an airtight seal. Of course your harvested seeds will grow! Glad you are back.

I have had a bad few months.. well not just me but my whole family. My granddaughter (she's just turned 2) was diagnosed with leukemia and all we can do is support my son and daughter-in-law and pray for good news. Christmas will be special and ALL about the season. Hey hey! So glad to see a new video from you! November sucked for me too. I’m over it -it shall be the month that is unmentionable. Glad to know I’m not alone in that. Those building plans/drafts would be cool to use as artwork -framed and hung on the wall. Idk I love seeing blueprints hung on walls, am I the only one? 😂 Also the fact that your crawl space/basement has a window could mean a future plant room? It’d be cool to finish that area off at some point. More space for plants is never bad 🙈🙈

For seeds, I like to use plastic photo storage cases that come with sixteen 4x6" inner cases. Easy to sort what you have and keeps them dry. :)

Hey Fern, I watch @gardenanswer here on KZbin and Laura organizes her seeds using narrow plastic cd/dvd storage bins with lids and then just uses card board to divide the types of seeds or she might organize but time of year to start/plant them too. She likes it because it is narrow enough to hold seed packets upright without spilling everywhere and they often stack nicely for storage. I will be using that method when I have more seeds.

I love the cold but my plants DO NOT!! Trying to keep them all happy seems a little more difficult during the end of the year with dropping temps and humidity. Waterings get a bit more complicated, fertilizing is less frequent, and my sanity slips a little more each month the closer we get to January.. I'm going through my plants and propagations to do whatever is needed in addition to watering or potting some all tomorrow. I also bought some new plants to find places for and some hooks to put up in the ceiling. For fertilizing/feeding now, I prefer to give it every time I water. That way I don't have to try to remember when, who needs what! LOL

I'm a new plant mom, and I just wrote down the rest of my to do list for Nov. thru Dec. I started writing it on Nov 25th. It's the only way I remember to do everything 😉 I too would like to get into a routine of fertilizing my plants. I don't really do it, and have never done it before so I'm kinda scared, but I have Liqui-Dirt that I purchased months ago so I'm gonna put it to good use.❤ TFS happy you're back, but please take as much time as you need for yourself in the future... always 💟

Fern I think November is a challenging month for the majority of plant parents. Living in Canada with the light hours decreased, I find myself moving plants around doing pest maintenance and shall we talk about the dust? with many of us having forced air systems. Setting up winter grow lights for supplemental light, and washing the windows. The fungus knats have returned so one more challenge, stop watering so much. Our passion can be challenging, but I too find making lists, purging unloved plants and investing more time with my collection, made the month bearable.

For seed organizing: I use a plastic photo organizer box. I've also seen other gardeners use 3 ring binders with plastic inserts to put paper (but obviously you store seeds instead of paper)

If your grow lights go off at 7 pm what time do you turn them On. Mine go on at 7 am and off at 10 pm if I remember or at 11 pm when the news comes on and I suddenly realize it’s too bright in here.

On at 5am and off at 7! For the main ones. The bedroom ones come on around 7am and off around 8:30pm.

Unfortunately, I don't know if they are available on another continent ;) I use lights from Secret Jardin (Cosmorrow panels), winter/spring lights as well as summer lights. I haven't spotted them on American (or Canadian!) videos but I think you can get them somehow, as three plugs are included with the cable (and I have way too many uk/us plugs that I never use ;))

I wanted to ask you, you mentioned in one of you videos that you had a Plant🌿that was a Crawler, but you trained it to grow vertical. How did you do it, what did you use?

On your prop shelves what lights do you have and how did you attach them? Also, i started mixing my own soil mix with a good indoor potting mix with orchid bark, pumice and charcoal. I love mixing it with my hands. I have perlite from when I had African violets (they all died when i moved, not sure why but i may start adding it ro to my mix to use it up. Lol😊

I'm starting to shower my plants a lot to keep the leaves clean and I find that it makes a big difference. other than that, spraying down the plants that are more prone with a preventative treatment, even something as simple as castille soap! hope your pest issues get better, I know how stressful that can be.

Two of them are pre-mixed fertilizer's in different concentrations for foliage feeding. The other two I use frequently to mix my fertilizing during day to day watering :)

I know this is a mum thing to say..but watching u open the perlite & the dust going everywhere..very bad for your lungs. I have big 100ltr size perlite bags..make some holes in the bottom of the bag & run water thru it b4 u use it. Your lungs will thank you 🥰
