In a shocking turn of events, I decided to redo my ofifce/ bedroom/ plantroom space, and create a small nook that will serve as a tiny planty office. This is a space-saving solution, because sometimes you just have too many plants and you struggle with space. It is also a good solution for those with smaller homes.

Nope, books are better as they don't die on you. 😂 Better yet, books and plants. Looks great and practical. But ah the joys of stripping paint. Not for the faint hearted. It looks great and very practical. My experience with raw wood is it warps so easily so perhaps waxing it is something for you to do on those cold winter nights. Great video as always.

Great job. All your ‘buts’ and ‘howevers’ are simply because you are a perfectionist. You did a great job.👏

Well, Miro...you did it again. Even though I know some of the DIY work was frustrating, I'm impressed. I think you did a great job. And I hope this doesn't sound rude, but I love your sense of humor and you always make me smile. I think your idea to put a magnet down below will work well. I hope you enjoy all your labor and amazing work you put into it. Thank you again for sharing your life with us!!! 💖

It wasn't that much DIY, it really is the paint stripper that failed me :D and perhaps trusting too much youtube videos thinking it would be super easy xD

Oh man, i love your videos, but this one highlighted your sense of humor. I found myself relating A LOT as well as laughing out loud many times. I spent the day today between ordering Hoyas and trying to assemble a pine bread box. Thank you for all the great content.

Hello Miro. I love your videos. You are so funny and likable. I have an idea for you. You say in the video, that your table is too low for you. If you move the tabletop shelf a bit up, you can just extend the one leg you flip out. That way it will still support the weight of the table even though it’s higher than intended. You would only need some wood and screws to make the leg longer.

Hi Miro 💫 Yay!!! Another video. I absolutely will always adore and appreciate your sense of humor. You never fail to make me chuckle 🤭. I think you did a fantastic job on your sanding (why does this word look weird?) and it all turned out beautifully ~ besides those wood splinters that keep getting you. How dare them 😅. I hope you have a wonderful rest of your week and a great weekend. 🙏🏻💫

I haven't made it thru the full vid just yet, I am watching you while organizing my home office / hoya room. I giggled to self watching you with screwdriver, as I have multiple hand drills, but always use my screw driver or hand tool over the drill...idk why i do that.

You probably had the wrong sandpaper. When you are taking paint off, you want the "sand" to be bigger. It will take off material faster. Then you get smaller "sand" on the paper to make everything really smooth. I don't know how they rate sandpaper there - in the US you want 80 or 120 grit, then 220.
@BasiePlants
@BasiePlants Жыл бұрын
They are rated the same :) I actually went all the day down to a very large grit (40) and then 60, 80, 120… :) It didn’t help much as the paint seeped into the wood + it is waxy paint, so it’d wear out the sand paper fast.

The new set up looks great! If by any chance you still mind the green paint peeking through, you can take any part of the shelving unit into a paint store and have a paint mixed to match the most predominant wood shade. With a small detailed brush these areas would then just blend in nicely. Also, something like Danish oil would take care of the rough surface and protect your desk in the long run.
@BasiePlants
@BasiePlants Жыл бұрын
Thanks! That is a great idea. I might do it if I am annoyed by the green :) So far it is bothering me far less than I thought it would.

I would have probably stopped in the first 1 hour of paint removal and I would have resorted in painting it all black. Can't go wrong with black.
