7:29 that cutscene is always so funny when your an exo. Yes, go ahead, try cut my metal throat with your knife. I'm sure that will do serious damage. I'll probably bleed out and die. Not like I don't have blood or anything. And I certainly can't just be revived by my ghost 5 seconds later.

I always felt a little uncomfortable about Uldren and Mara’s relationship (or I guess how infatuated Uldren is with her.), since they’re siblings. Getting some serious Alabama vibes

I mean if Mara was my sister, I’d be a little sus too you know? 😳
@skybrooke38183 жыл бұрын
Their relationship is very chaotic and complicated. It's one of the most interesting parts of the Awoken lore. Uldren felt tethered to Mara, and there's cards using that exact wording to describe their relationship. He felt that no matter what he did, no matter what choices he made, he couldn't stray too far from her, whether or not he made the choice to do so. My opinion of Mara kinda warped after I looked into it. She was so absorbed and consumed by her own ambition and duty- and still is tbh. It was something she felt forced her to keep everyone she knew and loved at an arm's length, when that was never the case. She and Uldren, now Crow, are both profoundly written. No doubt the best writing I've seen with any character in the franchise. It makes me think that Crow will have a bigger role to play than we think.

It seems a lot easier to actually kill a guardian then some people think though. If they slot your ghost while it’s reviving you your toast. Or if they have Thorn
@hazardous83012 жыл бұрын
The hive, vex, and Siva can all kill guardians without destroying the ghost, as they all have corruptive powers that ends up permanently tainting the body. Plus you know, Crota literally killed thousands of guardians personally during their first encounter with him.

As I see it Uldren just wanted to be seen as a great warrior someone of such importance, loved by his Awoken followers yet never live up to that point, and loosing his sister made him felt like a failure That alone I can relate, and in a way made Uldren my favorite character. He was just someone desperate for being a legend that he ended up becoming a tool for the darkness. I didn't spend any time with cayde, so his death was meaningless for me.

To answer, Uldren's question, I am not nor can I be on one side. And the line between light and dark is neither thin nor a line at all but a fuzzy circle in which a release of energy is partially hidden. As such, darkness is not a thing at all but an absence. Darkness cannot be let in; light must be occluded. Asking where one stands is the wrong question - better to ask what is casting the shadow.

Yo anyone else think that shot on Uldren from our Guardian sounds strange to be coming from the AoS, almost sounds like the Thorn, a weapon of darkness. And you saw the question presented by Sov and how much we hated him. A formation of darkness shot due to intense emotion? Maybe.

Actually in Canon per the Marasena we learn the that Awoken are a profoundly matriarchal society because the female awoken greatly out number men (I personally have a feeling Mara did this on purpose because Osana implanted the idea men - Uldwyn - were reckless and dangerous. Thus should never be given positions of power but thats tin foil) so much so the men were protected and coveted. While women took up the mantles of the leaders and warriors. In the lore - particularly the Forsaken Prince we do get to learn about other male awoken- I personally think The Crows were mostly male but that's simply my HC. Awoken Society- particularly in the Disteubutary is fascinating on a sociological level. Honestly some of the best political/social world building and such a juxtaposition to modern western society which is really pretty neat. Actually going into Witch Queen the biggest leaders are all female in Caital, Mara and Ikora (who i hope finally gets her big moment). Real world politics aside the social world building in Destiny is amazing once you sink you teeth into it.
