My mother and father would go to the casino in the 30s and 40s to dance with the big bands, my father in law loved going there for the speed boat rides, and our family would go there in the 50s and 60s using ride coupons we would get from our Twin Pines milk man.

Mom used to take us to the Walled Lake Amusement Park on weekdays when it wasn't so busy. The roller coaster was always the best part. Mom loved roller coasters. But then again mom used to race Dad's brand new 62 Tempest on Woodward on Saturday nights, I remember the fire. We could see the smoke from it. We lived on middledale road off of Richardson road. I do miss the amusement park. But then I missed the Commerce Drive-In where mom and dad would take us every weekend. I think I seen every beach party movie ever made there. And quite a few Elvis movies. And maybe even McHale's Navy joins the Air Force. Where I'm living here in Washington at the Washington State Fair they have a wooden roller coaster, and I tell people it ain't nothing compared to the one that I used to ride when I was a little kid. Thanks for the memory.

My great grandpa owned the bait and tackle shop in late 50s early 60s his name was Boris james but went by jimmy if anyone knew about him I’d love to know

I grew up in Taylor so it was not far away... it was a fun thing...Also there was a drummer I had played with up in the Traverse City area that went to the school with Stevie Wonder,,,,

My friend's father owned Kostere's bar and restaurant on Eight Mile at Grand River. I went to the amusement park with them, must have been a restaurant association outing. I don't remember anything of the park but I sure remember the speed boat ride.

Oh, the wonderful memories I have of the Walled Lake Casino and Amusement Park. That roller coaster rocked!
