Etec had the muffler with the baffle in the middle. Hda199 carb with the accelerator pump and a smaller low fuel circuit.

Thanks Pat. It definitely has the cat muffler. Carb is a Walbro and I already drilled the hole in it.

359 can make a mean runner. Mike “driller” Toath on you tube builds the meanest 359 I’ve seen

That's supposed to be diaphragm cover and the zama carb is EL42 sorry about the mix up. 😂😂 cheers 🍻

The 357 has crank stuffers and 359 has a normal crank , the part number for the cranks are the same just the stuffer is different

I love the 357 , 359 saws if there built rite They work great , coils from 365, 372 , 385 390 will work on those saws , now I have a little tip the clutch cover off a 455 rancher will fit the 350 up to the 359 , it has the adjustment on the cover like the bigger saws just let you know I have them on all my 357and 359s 😊

@@novicelumberjack These misdiagnosed saws are sometimes a good thing. They end up in the trash/scrap yard, where they become mine! I've come across a few good finds here lately.

Had a shoo tell a buddy a saw was blown up I got it here and the carb screen was clogged 😆 saw shops want to sell new saw

Mr Cajun is spot on about the muffler and the carb. If your saw has the stock walbro carb with the thick plastic block under the top cover get rid of it . The diagram cover is not vented and will starve the saw for fuel and can cause a lean run situation. I am currently rebuilding a 359etec for this reason. You can replace the walbro carb with a zamz EL42 and mod or replace the muffler. Cheers man. 🍻

Yes drilling a hole will work but as Mr Cajun pointed out the delivery port in the walbro carb is also restricted for emissions and fuel economy. Cheers 🍻

I think ETech has catalytic muffler? Restrictive and holds heat. Most had plastic intake clamp which led to many air leaks.
