NOVUS Summit at United Nations presents Jacque Fresco award for city design.

On July 17, 2016, The Venus Project founder Jacque Fresco received the award for City Design & Community from the NOVUS summit in conjunction with the United Nations division UN DESA. This was held at the General Assembly Hall of the United Nations. We are deeply grateful to those who put on the event and want to give a special thank you to Natasha Tsakos who did an amazing job of introducing Jacque, Roxanne, and The Venus Project. This annual summit gives a platform to humanitarian, governmental and non-governmental organizations showcasing innovations for sustainable development to transform the world in a positive way.
This is a very important step in our world outreach effort, to unite humanity towards a better future for all.
At this conference The Venus Project was pleased to announce the beginning of the next phase of our development - our new NPO called Resource Based Economy created to initiate construction of the first experimental city system designed by Jacque Fresco. This city will showcase our optimistic vision, allowing people to see what kind of future we can build if we channel our efforts of a systems approach for social betterment. Any updates, I would presume aligning this with a type of upcoming AGI and transforming into a new ecosystem would make it real; some elements may even be very important in the transition to AGI; consider every human a role model; how one behave towards less influential may be reflected back upon every single person very soon now when approaching AGI; a categorical imperative is crucial, no financial resources may protect from that consequence in a very, very contrasting progression in the upcoming time.

What the WEF fails to realize? Is that their system is becoming obsolete. For 20 years now I have been studying the trends in technological unemployment and the convergences of technologies that are disrupting markets. As Jacque stated, when you digitize and automate everything? It will be too cheap to monitor. And he was 100% correct on that assertion. Every time that we digitize or automate anything in the value chains, two things happen. They demonetize and democratize. Becoming much cheaper, and more readily available. Its a snake eating its tale at this point. The next ten years will have more impact upon our societies, than the arrival of the 1st industrial Revolution. Which is anthropologically responsible for the creation of the Capitalist model. And once again that change in our environment will produce changes in peoples values, beliefs and behavioral patterns. Its already happening.

Bit this is problem,I think Jacque wanted something deferent ,but elites will use that in opposite way. He wanted to give all humans not just few.

Much like the Atlantis, whether mythological or true, the concentric structure of the city is efficient from getting places POV. However, where I have doubts is having a resource based economy. No country endowed with natural resources would declare its resources a world heritage to serve all other people on earth. Trading would be best bet.

here we go again, central planning, we been down this road. As always it sounds great on paper but the reality never ends up as great as it sounds. I think the mistake of the Venus project is to think they need to go global. That’s actually very dangerous. Because like fresco said everyone thinks differently. They should of already started to build as a small community and slowly grow. Instead they wasted a lot of time on information. I can associate with this myself. I’ve wasted my life on seeking information and truth and now I’m getting old and have nothing. I’ve always loved the Venus project but later feared the government would take over it and turn it into garage or maybe not allow it or steal the idea for evil purposes. And right now I want to look back on it and I think I still feel the same but hopeful that maybe something will develop already instead of waiting on agenda 2030 to take over it

Great to see Jacque recognized but this is 30 years too late.... and the UN has been unable to fulfill a majority of its mandate since inception. Additionally, there are very severe differences between Agenda 2030 and TVP. TVP will have to take the lead in teaching the principles of a RBE to the elites in this organization. And they have to listen for longer than 7 minutes...

Right, but it's good to have it on the achievements for outreach purposes. Even though he has no interest in "recognition", he accepts it if it furthers the social aims. Agree on having it on record that the UN knows of this solution and that JF at 100yrs would be correct to shrug off concept of recognition--you can tell he's intellectually way past that . As for the UN, they do have the resources to help bring Jacques vision to the forefront, its just that they can't be mixing some of there own "solution" which involves government and monetary structures with an RBE. TVP should continue to work interested parties at the UN to change their outdated value system. It also would not hurt if TVP can present to the UN at semi-regular basis if possible, as the turmoil across the planet continues.
