It's not a Ina Garten cooking video if it's not an anniversary, she doesn't mention Jeffrey, or she isn't using enough sticks of butter to stop 3 grown mens hearts.

In my opinion, novympia's parodies should be studied, like how the scenes of "Devil's Wear Prada" is dissected and analyzed. Additionaly, what I really love about these impersonations is while they are hilarious they are also unoffensive, which is rare nowadays and I find that really amazing.

I like that he doesn't just go for the simple imitation. For instance, he could have said "micro-wauve' like Nigella, but he took it a step further and put the same intonation on "lawnmower" instead.

This is so funny. Ina lives in an almost unbelievable fairytale world where all her friends are really successful and every guy she knows apart from Jeffrey is an ageing fay guy who does table settings or arranges flowers. One of the most fake bits is when she sends him to a deli to buy things he's never heard of. This captures the mood perfectly.

My take on Ina Garten is that she’s actually a very socially awkward nerd who probably isn’t anywhere near as socially active as she portrays herself to be on her show. To me it’s painfully obvious that being in front of a camera is something that does not come naturally to her, and whenever I see the segments that show her actually interacting with her “friends”, it’s so cringeworthy and awkward to watch. That’s where I would say her clueless classism comes from. Only someone with poor social skills would be that cartoonishly elitist, in my opinion. Plus, the things that she thinks are ultra chic are actually very cliché and basic. Like her love of everything French. Perhaps French food and French style were the cutting edge of style decades ago, but that’s been such old news for a long time now. And it’s funny that for liking to flaunt her wealth and the fact that she lives in The Hamptons, she herself is so frumpy. I don’t she think owns any other piece of clothing besides those damn collared shirts and black pants. Over the years I’ve seen a couple pictures of her out on the town, and her idea of dressing up looks like something a 90 year old woman trying to be fancy would wear.

@theywalkinguptoyouand4060 3 жыл бұрын
@@kconrad5893 see that's whats pathetic about people like you. She doesn't need to be "chic" she just likes french style. Why does she have to follow your take on what's "cutting edge"?? She can like what she wants. She doesn't give a fuck that a novody like you thinks its cliché. She doesn't have to follow your style and to wear expensive clothing to display her wealth. She is richer and classier than you'll ever be. Funny how the poor like you think they have any say in what style the rich likes. That's why avoid interacting with people like you unless it's to throw spare change.

But class is a real thing. And like it or not everybody has different backgrounds. And her demographic or setting is not necessarily low income recipes or homes now is it? Not everything has to be accessible or relatable to entertain. Frankly many people enjoy these sorts of shows from any background. That’s the weird thing about entertainment there is the class of people it’s pitched to but there are always another bracket that follows it. Entertainment isn’t really classism. That is more a political/ sociology thing.
@kconrad5893
@kconrad5893 3 жыл бұрын
@@orion8835 Not really sure what your point is. I don’t believe I ever said that such shows or people shouldn’t exist now did I? I was just giving my impression of Ina Garten and I believe I have a right to not like her. It’s not really about social class, it’s more about a person’s character and my own virtues. I don’t begrudge anyone who can afford the finer things in life to enjoy them. But to so gratuitously flaunt your wealth? That’s not a cute look. That’s pure narcissism. I have found in life that narcissists usually defend and excuse other narcissists. Just sayin’. 🤷‍♂️

Well, the point in enjoying an impersonation is that you have to have some basic knowledge about the person in question at least. Most importantly, your comment can be taken as a cheap compliment for Olympia and Nova's work on their parodies. Ya know: they've been doing researches about the people, studied mannerisms, verbal ticks, voice inflexions, accents, wardrobe and makeup. I don't know most of the personalities they've been parodied so far, so before I watch Novympia's take, I go to their channels or websites and watch them for a while. I can assure you that you will enjoy the parody 10x better afterwards. Peace.
