Yup, I remember that. Dean was never the same after his son got killed in a plane crash, and he just lost the will to live after that. I think he died of a broken heart much more than the lung cancer and emphysema.

As a child of eight, I had the privilege of meeting both Deanna and her father Dean. My dad and I were moving her into her home in Palm Springs and Dino had stopped by. Both very gracious very kind people especially to an eight-year-old girl. Thank you for that, it made a wonderful impression

I actually live in Steubenville. They stopped having the “Dean Martin Festival” because no one knew who he was anymore. It’s sad, because that was a big event growing up. And Deanna emceed several times! I believe they are trying to get it going again but I don’t know, Steubenville is pretty dead. But thanks for mentioning us!!!! People usually leave us out when they talk about Dino- yet we have several murals of him around town.

I loved Dean. He did a lot of outstanding movies. The Rat Pack was great but I liked Rio Bravo the best! Jerry Lewis helped make Dean what he became. The pare were awesome together. It was hard to hear when they broke up.

I grew up in the ‘50’s and loved Dean Martin, including his early years with Jerry Lewis and as an actor, singer and entertainer on his own. I loved his singing and the songs that he made famous. He was a great entertainer and apparently also a devoted father.

6:05 He had a drink, but he was not a boozer, however it looked like he was drunk when performing at Las Vegas. It helped the casinos to see Dean have a good time. He may not have known it, but his drunken persona did help the country. The American World War 2 generation underwent hardships and many became occasional drinkers to deal with the stress. Soldiers as well as civilians. Women as well as men. With the character he played he made that acceptable. His daughter, Deana Martin said, "Don't expect any "Daddy Dear" revelations from us. A journalist made a comment once in an editorial, "Sammy wanted to be Frank, Frank wanted to be Dean and Dean wanted to be home."

Dean Martin was a great Singer, Actor and Comedian. Only Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Junior could do that. I do not know about his alleged faking. His Songs are timeless and hold up today as did his Comedy and Acting. At the end of his life, he suffered his greatest personal blow when his youngest son was killed in an Air Force accident which the AF blamed the son. The Martin family knew differently, and years later, the AF acknowledged it was the AF’s fault. At this time, Martin became reclusive and would eat at his favorite Steak House without acknowledging fans. He died Inside. Dean Martin loved his family until the end. Jerry Lewis disinherited his children. That is the mark of a Real Man, Dean Martin.

Dean Martin's daughter pronounces her name Dee-nah. Not! Dee-Anna. But spells it Deana. That's Dean with an "A" at the end. His last name is pronounced Crow- setty. Not! Crow-chetty. How do I know? There's several sites that he mentioned that's how he pronounces his name.And Sasha is not his biological daughter. He adopted her. She is the daughter of his third wife.
