The administrative minister of the Presidency, Andrés Bautista García, believes that the presentation of the fiscal modernization project is necessary despite the political cost that it could represent at present, being one of the reasons that in the past prevented its announcement and execution.
“Here we have two paths: continue borrowing until falling into the abyss or make this reform; there is no dictatorial position but we cannot allow the objective to be denatured, which is precisely to obtain resources to be able to pay,” Bautista said.
During an interview on the radio program “El Gobierno de la Mañana” on the Z101 radio station, Bautista García indicated this Thursday that the reform proposal is not to harm or benefit anyone but to face problems that should have been addressed previously and due to fear of the cost and irresponsibility did not materialize.
“Luis Abinader has had the courage to take on this political blow for the country. We are all going to have to sacrifice ourselves in order not to lose more; We know the political cost that it has, but we must be responsible because otherwise it could end up being more expensive," said the minister.
