For anyone that didn’t know, Yuri’s poem about feeding the raccoon was a metaphor for her self harm. Knowing full well that feeding the raccoon would make it want to come back, etc. She talks about the rush of blood, and how easily she slices the bread. It’s pretty freaky what team Salvato achieved, and a phycological horror like this is hard to pull off, I’m sure. I just realized, The Portrait of Markov is indicative of the story. The original story was much lighter and focused on the characters and story with a few dark themes. The second telling is much more dark and focuses on and exaggerates the dark themes. The MC even summarizes the game in some text, "Yuri made it sound like it was going to be a nice story, so that dark turn came out of nowhere." 35:22 Replace Yuri with Monika in that situation and you've just described the story
