As long as you stay on the path, you won't get crushed. 55:43 That was Pandemonium! It only triggers the minigame if it sees you, so since you were hiding in the other room away from its path, it didn't attack you. That's also why you got the achievement.

(You will have to turn on your light again afterwords.) This will prevent you from taking unnecessary damage very easily. Fun fact: You dont need to hotswap lightsources. The second you click in order to put a lightsource away, the squiddles cannot attack you It's most evident with the lantern, because it takes the longest to put away

Making good progress. The Trenchbleeder sections are really cool and those things are indeed a reference or inspiration from Ultrakill. Hoping you'll read the new documents you got once you get the chance too. The game is chock full of references, like the fancy car you can see in the heavy containment areas is a reference to a classic horror movie called Christine, which is a a Stephen King story about an evil sentient car. I think the tractor you can see is based on a B movie about a killer tractor.

A little tip that has helped me with this game is to turn up your display color by typing calibrate display color in your Windows search bar at the bottom left, opening the setting, and clicking next until you find a slider on the left side. Once you do find it, you can move the slider up to increase your brightness.
