Im gonna say it as many times as neccesary. The moves in t8 are programmed/coded wrong. The character is not supposed to change direction during their move. The direction of the move should be the possition where the opponent was standing the moment the move started and if it is a string it should keep the direction of the first hit.

YES!!!! I been trying to tell people about this "religning" thing since the game came out. There have been too many situations where the second or third hit of a string hitting me when I clearly hard read a b3 or b4. For example Reina's hellsweep, when I hard read b3 or b4 the first hit, she does a 180 degrees turn and hit me with the second hit. Another example Kazuya's df1 2, I hard read b3 or b4 the first hit, then he would turn 90 degrees turn, left or right (depending on the direction I spin) and would hit me with the second part.

yeah people have been mistaking the relignment with tracking. i don't think tracking has changed much but the auto correct on moves is insane now. hitboxes also seem to need adjusting. always getting hit after i ss something that didn't even track or realign, just hitting my afterimage lmao

Lets just be honest, Tekken 8 only looks cooler visually. It's more casual friendly, easier to play and relies more heavily on mechanics like HEAT and having stackable installs for certain chars. Drag's 43 isn't realigning. The 2nd move straight up tracks. Realigning would require you to dash, run, or wavedash at someone.

Not defending tekken 8, but tekken in general, many strings that have fast forward momentum in the game seem to track because they do realign due to forward momentum. This is just a general thing in tekken that drag string does it, yoshis 1ss 121 does it, laws junkyard does it, half of lidias and hwoarangs movelist do it. Obviously some strings are more egregious than others, but if a string has forward momentum, it has the potential to realign. This concept is also what you stated in your comment like when pros dash jab to realign. Very few moves in tekken are truly linear. Knee makes good points about a lot of things in this video, especially the wall, but he was reaching with the string stuff. Some strings are easily sidestepped, that drag one isn't. It's a knowledge thing. Not telling Knee to get good, just saying out of all of his points, this one is pretty weak.

Its still tracking. It might not be classified as homing as defined in the game but it's still tracking the invisible node. Wakeup kicks and other attacks will literally do a 180 to track your hitbox. Just holding our hands , this game literally plays itself

I think that tekken 7 is really the best iteration in the series and should remain as the standard. I think the realignment is on purpose. Before they made changes to side step i was messing around against nona in practice and went to side step her armored move(i dont play her so im guessing f 1+2). Sometimes when stepping everything happened how it should, she whiffs you punish but sometimes she would whiff but still track with you facing you. Her back or side should always be to you if you step that. I believe these things are here tomake the game easier for people but it's just frustrating

Tekken is a overall defensive/ offensive fighter but it leans towards defense slightly more ad attacking like crazy gets you killed by a fundamental player. The thing about tekken 8 is that it's not unique, tekken was the only game where it was you and the opponent, that's it. No meters, no specials, no cutscene in the middle of the fight. It's the only 3d fighting game out there, and they ruined it by making it stupid easy to play. And the new players love it, they don't have to think or get better because skill, intuition, and mind games are all gone and the community couldn't be happier right?...

That shit started to die around tekken 5 and 6 onward. Sure having characters with unique traits is cool but tekken was always a fundamental/ defensive fighting game with many ways to counter your oppenent and attack if I recall correctly. Hopefully in the coming months this is fixed by buffing the defensive side and toning the meters and powerhouse mechanics down a lot.

As someone who mained Yoshi for all of T7 and TTT2, I was prone to the bias up until I played against another Yoshi. I used to set up for attacks that are no longer unblockable and since spacing worked, matches would be pretty decent. Now it’s retarded frames, a lot of flash, and almost the same flow chart from all Yoshi players. Now, I don’t play him anymore even though he’s arguably stupid. I’ll come back if they drop his T6 costume though. Idk what I’m god’s name convinced them to drop the ttt2 costume and call it classic. Mishima tracking is brain dead. The realignment issue is intentional. They want moves to align better to deter movement. They don't want movement because the point of T8 is 'simplification'. Back in T7 they actually made a patch to make Kazuya's hellsweep tracking. Think about that for a sec. Now think about the final DLC characters. Fakuhmram and Kuni had that realigning thing with their moves as well, particularly their strings. The real spirit of Tekken is dying and it's only going to get worse because T8 actually increased the playerbase. To them, they're doing the right thing. As proof of that, have a look at the 'simplification' with Heihachi :)

I've mained Bryan in Tekken 3, 6, 7 and 8. Didn't have the others until recently. Toward the end of the life of 7, I started incorporating Gattling rush at the wall. Cannot get it to work consistently in 8. I get them to the wall and try to do GR, and the opponent slides down the wall. And there are non wall issues. When people say Bryan is still playing Tekken 7, they're partially right, because in some instances, he's not even playing 7.

You are separanting the word track with align. But this isn't real world, in Tekken tracking is actualy the aplication of align. You could say that a homing move is always align in every frame and that move only aligns only once in second hit. Regardless, both use alignments. So isn't wrong to say that the moves tracks. Because resets the position after first hit.

As for the realigning theory, it is definitely possible. You can see the camera start to move before the second attack comes out so maybe they need to adjust how the game processes the sequence, especially since the realignment is happening after the inputs are made.

Has no one realized that no one is great at tekken 8 yet? There might only be like 3 or 4 pro players that are great at tekken 8. Ulsan, Arslan, Mulgold, and Atif are about the only pro players that are consistently making top 3 at everything they go to. Literally no one is great yet. Tekken 7 was in arcades for 2 years before home release. Everyone is expecting tekken 8 to be perfect out of the box because at the end of tekken 7's life it was a nearly perfect fighting game. Tekken 8 just came out, and no it's not perfect, but it is very good. People are mistaking flaws in their gameplay for flaws in the game. Yes, the walls are pretty wonky in tekken 8. That absolutely needs fixed. Also some heat combos are very inconsistent and they need to fix whatever causes the sporadic frame drops on PC, but those are really the only 3 issues I see. Maybe some minor character balances, but that's all. People haven't given the game enough time and almost no one is putting on masterclasses at tournaments. One key thing that shows me a fighting game is made well is if the same best players are winning tournaments. In tekken 8, the same best players are winning tournaments. Ulsan, arslan, mulgold, atif, ak. Those guys have won just about everything. If a game has too many players winning major tournaments, theres too much randomness in a game. That's not the case with t8. Wait until people get good at the game, then we will see.

They already removed the ability to continue a juggle when doing a heat burst then heat dash in the same combo. Why would they completely remove juggles after heat dash when you’re already in heat. Yah just keep coming up with ways for them to render Heat useless so it can be T7 all over again. Lame as hell

Lars's standard wall combo has been dodgy since Tekken 7. Characters fall out of Lars's wall combo left and right. Now, Lars's combos occasionally and semi regularly drop.

I wish the moves that put you in heat would only activate when you hold forward, just like in Heat Dash. This way you don't have to risk using your heat if you ever need those moves that go into heat.
