Now That's Midschool - Ep 3 featuring Keith Brazier

Now then. In this episode, I'm visiting Keith Brazier and his Midschool collection, located just south of Birmingham here in the UK.
Keith's collection has shrunken in recent times and what he's left with is his homage to vert legend Jay Miron and his rides through the 90s. Namely Hoffman and Schwinn bikes, as well as associated protective gear. Keith has gone the extra mile in terms of detailed finishing with his bikes, especially when you consider that Schwinn Bikes never really got a foothold in the UK market. That factor alone makes his collection all the more remarkable in my opinion. We talk about the people who have helped him along the way, the inspiration behind his collection and we take a look at his younger brother's GT that Keith has kept as a time capsule piece since his brother's untimely passing almost 30 years ago.

Ok mate I’ve had ss 4x4 v-2 hubs like 6 of em three sets , first is 3/8 front 14 mm rear . 14 mm 14 mm front and back , and a 3/8 front and 3/8 rear , the 14mm 14 mm are polished

My 03 pro condor bike check … Hoffman aftermarket pro team condor frame and super forks with peg bosses and 990 mounts , hb fist front load stem , gen 2 ramp room love handles , primo john Parker love hate grips , tech 99 levers , primo pervert , hombre breaks , hb micro adjust seat post , primo btm balance seat , Marvin’s guts , 175 mm primo power bites , 36t hb cnc skull sprocket , super tenderizers , Alex supra g 48h triple walls , front hub is xs 4x4 v-2 , rear is odyssey v-3 cassette, red primo monsters 1.95 85 psi , odyssey gtxr gyro , tank headset . Also have its stock seat, flame grips , 44t cnc sprocket , and it’s original fantastic four piece bars … currently it’s 43 pounds of bomb proof joy 😊

Personally and in hindsight, at 6ft in height, I really shouldn't have bought one back in the day. In terms of length and weight, it could have only hindered my riding. The Empire would have been a better bet at 20.5". You live and learn I guess!

These bikes are replicas of what Jay rode in comps 94-98. RB-J1s weren't available until 2000 as aftermarket items. They may have been available on the high end Schwinn completes a little earlier. But pre 97, Super 7Xs were the best Arayas available. I also researched RB-J1s for a project of my own before finally tracking down a pair for myself. Thanks for the comment though. 🤘

@tylerjohnston4588 the various Facebook mischool BMX groups, ebay, Craigslist, other bike forums. You've got to go search hard and deep. And search just "Araya". Someone maybe advertising without realising what they have.

Thanks for the input Hayden. I do try to avoid that kind of positioning. Unfortunately, for now, there is only one camera so it is difficult to have the collection and collector in frame and especially when it comes to smaller spaces. 👌
