I think certain parts they discussed were explained and they missed it. Like Mike saying he was a little sad and them initially being against the wedding. It wasn't about Roland getting married in general, they had no problem with that. Their issue was Roland moving away. Mike explained how he moved around alot when he was a kid and was never able to make friends. They didn't stop moving and stay somewhere permanantly until they got to California so Roland and Slim were his only friends. He was scared of them being seperated, that also plays into why he didn't go to NYU and stayed in Cali. Slim went away to play ball but he came back.

What's funny is how the whole "betting" thing happened in Cooley High as well. And I agree with Necey. Experience is the best, so waiting until you're a bit older for sex is best. But these young folks won't listen (because just like us as teens) because impatience and they THINK they know better.

I think Slim had huge self esteem issues that he hid behind being corny. He didn’t start looking good until HS and probably thought he was the least in the group. A lot of men carry that like we do, but it’s harder because they are the chasers. I remember you saying similar about Michael Blackson, Bondy.

Even if slim had a perspective about his mama's value because he never seen her with a man. That still would be a reflection of how she carries herself and how she speaks about herself concerning the subject. Cuz I've aeen quite a few men be raised by a single moms and they don't think of their mom as less valuable because they haven't ever seen her with a man and that's the reflection of their moms carrying themselves with confidence and speaking on themselves and about themselves with confidence and self worth no matter what. But if you have a mom that's always talking down to herself or always doing things that are dishonorable to herself then it would skew your view of women who don't have a man.
@queenscarlettpimpsunkiss..55372 жыл бұрын
Just because Lil Mama was around doesn't mean she was necessarily good to him. Cuz funny that you bring up Bill Bellamy's character on the brothers. And like you said his mama was verbally abusive to him and his brother because she had issues with their daddies. Slim may have had that same experience even though we didn't see it. And then thinking about the fact that he played basketball and seems as though his career ended abruptly. He could have had an experience where his folks was hella supportive of him and then abandon him when he wasn't playing ball no more. And that could have been a consistency throughout his life. Whenever he was winning his family was there whenever he wasn't doing what they expected of him they weren't giving the same sort of support.. just my inference.
