Wow! I have lain in the dark earth of guilt and condemnation for about six years... my heart has been wintry, now love is coming again at last. This is marvellous.

@@patsparks3500 The harmony & the reverb from the church is just beautiful - can listen again & again to this song. Reminds me of Kings College Cambridge - as good as certainly. The British are fortunate to have such a rich heritage of such beautiful places of worship to sing in.

Its Hanbury Church in Worcestershire (www.hanburychurch.org) from some English people below www.hanburychurch.org/ I thought someone had mentioned Rugby School but cannot find it. Looks like a school choir.

Now the green blade rises from the buried grain, Wheat that in the dark earth many years has lain; Love lives again, that with the dead has been: Love is come again, like wheat that springs up green. In the grave they laid Him, Love Whom we had slain, Thinking that He’d never wake to life again, Laid in the earth like grain that sleeps unseen: Love is come again, like wheat that springs up green. Up He sprang at Easter, like the risen grain, He that for three days in the grave had lain; Up from the dead my risen Lord is seen: Love is come again, like wheat that springs up green. When our hearts are saddened, grieving or in pain, By Your touch You call us back to life again; Fields of our hearts that dead and bare have been: Love is come again, like wheat that springs up green.

You used the modern version tho ._.
@Stai20127 жыл бұрын
@Klara Andow: Aaactually, in *my* church, it's neither 'springs up' nor 'springeth', but "arising". Love is come again, like wheat arising green. Because "thgreen" is ew. And we say "many days" has lain, not many years, because we are actual farmers who know how these things work. And we still use "wintry" in the first line of the fourth stanza, because poetry. Because honey badger don't care, and neither do us Lutherans. So there.
@rosiebowers16716 жыл бұрын
Same in my church ("arising", "many days" and "wintry"); not Lutheran though. It's my favorite hymn, but generally I have to stop singing before the end else I might start crying (yeah, I'm a wimp).
