Nhl highlights today - So many games in the past few days but this pittsburgh penguins vs colorado avalanche highlights show how wild this one was, if you saw the game it was even more theatrical, and this nathan mackinnon jonathan drouin and company led team is ridiculous right now. Mackinnon highlights are on another level this season and jonathan drouin overtime goal in the midst of a resurgent year for him is absolute vibes, especially after the mackinnon vs crosby matchup began with that sidney crosby goal that was unreal. For coverage of nhl hockey 2024 including goals mic'd up moments interviews and general player plus team focused videos. Nathan MacKinnon Sidney Crosby Jonathan Drouin goal colorado avalanche

Make that 25 comeback wins for the Avs this season. Sakic had 120 points as the most in Colorado history in a season (1996), and now MacKinnon broke that record with 122 for most in Avalanche history in a single season. Peter Stastny has 139 for most in franchise history in a single season (1982). I hope he catches Stastny, wins the Art Ross, Hart, Lindsey, Stanley Cup, and Conn Smythe. Go Avs!

If Mackinnon gets the record for the only man to score a point in every home game this year he's the mvp. The art Ross I'm concerned he won't get. Don't give the kucherov deal. People are saying if he wasn't there they be down at the bottom of the league. With the season he's having and the talent on that roster the fact there a wild card team is disturbing. McDavid may get 100 assists but that start of the year probably will hold him back

Drouin was definitely the best player on the ice yesterday. 200ft game and his instincts were lights out. But MacKinnon is just a different animal than mcdavid and I feel like if he stays healthy and continue this trajectory it's gonna be wild to see what he can do. Also for my personal flavor of hockey enjoyment, Nate's playstyle is the most fun to watch, because you know that he can always turn it up to another gear

Usually the phrase "a different animal" implies superiority but in this case it is accurate without one player being head and shoulders over the other. McDavid is nimbler and a better playmaker but MacKinnon is simply stronger and has a better shot. It's cool to prefer MacKinnon's more physical playstyle but let's not act like he can "turn it up to another gear" in a way McDavid can't. MacKinnon was huge for the Avs winning the cup but McDavid wrote the book on turning it up to another gear the last couple playoffs. Even this season he put the Oilers on his back when they were struggling.

Spot on. MacKinnon is the most intense competitor in the nhl since Crosby. Without Crosby’s mentorship I doubt Mack is half the player he is today. @12ZekeS
@12ZekeS Ай бұрын
This is spot on. Think of Sid's legacy. He not only is in the conversation for greatest ever, but he has mentored a generational player in MacKinnon, who was on the path toward a Drouin-type career (not to that degree, but underwhelming compared to what his ceiling can be seen for now). For Crosby to pay that forward into MacKinnon, and for the love and respect to exist between them that is clearly there, that's the thing that truly separates Sid. He can do everything on the ice that every other "great" player has ever been able to do, but he's found a way to truly infuse his greatness into others as well. Just incredible.

Yeah if you think about his playoffs, really his first playoffs was his first time looking like a superstar. Probably helped him believe when it got tough after. Every playoffs since he's shown. Now he's so consistent and added so much to his game. You absolutely have to love him for two reason, his playoff hockey. Maybe more evident, his constant maturation, this is all hard work adding up. Every single part of his game and his physical ability getting better step by step, widening the skillset step by step, more consistent as he goes, that screams hard work. Eventually it put him over and he's only locked in more mentally since. Not even the 12.5 Mil a year can stop him.

It's all about bounces and what happens day to day one announcer said Toronto beating oilers then Ottawa beats oilers and this guy says it's all over for oilers what a stupid thing to say I still think Mcdavid is more of a complete player as per this year all the assists unreal and still in 3 rd place he did win the million dollar all star game prize but just to see a team with all these players on same team playing for Canada wow that will be a team built to win but as for regular season every night is different and playoffs are a total different game completely all it takes is one goaltender to get hot and they can carry a team every team who goes into playoffs has a chance to be the team holding the cup at the end

its a smaller differance between Max Pacioretty and Roman Josi to McKinnon than it is between McDavid to McKinnon in ppg over career, that is a fact

if mcdavid played for us we would be just like the oilers a loser team with no cap space cause mcmuffin took it all and couldnt build a team lmao mack took a team friendly deal we won then he got his big money , and thats why mcmuffin will never win a cup unless hes a rental at 38 lmao oilers management is garbage to lol we got 3 cups in 25 years how many u got ? hmmmm zero in 36 eh lmao one cup final lmao one conference final lol oilers will never win with mcdavid cause he plays for the name on the back not the logo on the front

The Pens might be bad but the Avs are most certainly that good. I actually don't think the Pens are terrible, we are just used to seeing them be a lot better and seeing them slip to 'average' is something that hasn't happened for a long time. The Avs played probably their worst first period all year and still found a way to get it done. When they are 'on' I don't know if there are any teams that can hang with them. There are 2 ways to beat the Avs right now..catch them early or catch them late. Teams will try jump on them to get an early lead and hope to hell they can hang onto it....or play it tight, hang around, keep it close and hope the Avs have a lapse in the third. All that said, if Colorado plays a lights out full 60 minute game I don't see any team surviving that.

@@andrewnelson7010 I hate seeing Sid still playing lights out and giving it everything on a pretty mediocre team. Seems like a waste of a really good season from him.
That Marchand/Bennett play sure is controversial...
