Their song "Mana" is imo the best instrumental track ever made. The band is known as epic viking metal btw.

Guys, I am thrilled at how much you like this. Sagas is one of the crowning achievement of folk metal, and trust me, the whole album is like this. The orchestration is masterful. They don't use the real folk-style instruments, they use synthesizers and layer it all together. If only Equilibrium kept this up, they would be my favorite band. This is actually their second album. Their first one was good but not to this level, and after this they've declined with each album imho. A real shame. "For some reason you get lost more when it's a different language... it puts you in a different place." THIS. Absolutely, I'm American and I listen to a lot of music in languages I don't understand, but instead of bothering me that I don't understand it, I instead like it because it seems to access a different level of depth and lets me get really deep into the music. Sometimes English-speaking bands can do this too (Opeth), but it's easier for foreign languages. And there's always translations to enable me to get the story behind the music as well.

I prefer the word 'pagan' metal, because it originates in Finland, land of heathens and trolls. I watch reaction videos sometimes, mostly see expected comments, you break this down and even got me a new perspective on it. I like the narrator being the grim reaper. Ok, but I never paid much attention to the lyrics, too busy running around. I like how you get the jungle vibes and the drums in the end, but that's how it starts as well, a Caribbian steel drum band. First time hearing, I hysterically laughed while jumping around... ..when the metal kicked in. Singer at the time was a blonde god (Helge? (was he even German, he looked like a Swedish viking?)). He later transferred to an Israëlian 'pirate' metal band (which is stupid in itself, but the girl singer was pretty, so maybe a reason?). After that, all Germany got me (metalwise, lots of great stuff in Germany) was 'Kromlek' (look that up, bloody awesome).

Very late to the party, but imho Rekreatur, while it's a little different from the first albums, is their absolute best. The drumming is also on a whole new level and Wassermann has to be in it for their best song overall
