Technically they still feel shallow surface level perfunctory emotions like mild amusement, light frustration, slight sadness. But nothing truly deep or overwhelming nothing that can't be easily ignored and dispelled and forgotten with a thought. The drugs only suppresses them to a bare minimum. Like feeling emotions through feet of cotton balls.

Equilibrium is from 2002 and i discoverd it in 2007 in a tv channel (''Space''). It was great!! i think it's among the best, if not the best from Christian Bale, i also would add ''3: 10 to Yuma'' and the Batman movies. Greetings from Argentina

Matthew Harbour, the young Canadian actor playing Christian Bale`s son in this film, did "The Velveteen Rabbit" two years earlier so he went from a super-emotional performance to an initially emotionless,robotic performance.

The scene where he is pistol whipping the soldiers you say "Its dumb", but simple soldiers are taught that there weapon is their life! They are reacting as they have been taught. If you notice during that scene he keeps hitting thier weapons down while hitting them across the shoulders, necks and heads and they keep shooting the ground. He is against simply trained soldiers whose reaction is to hold on to thier weapon. It is a boon and a flaw of soldiers.
@ScarriorIII3 жыл бұрын
He also is avoiding shooting so the trace doesn't pick up that he shot them.
@deathdealer11b334 жыл бұрын
If you look at the first scene he has around 10-15 rounds per shot per pistol. No need to reload when your shooting at 20-30 targets, and if your facing 8-10 your just making sure with extra shots that no one can stand up to attack you from behind.

Also Prozium, the drug they use to suppress emotions, is a mix of Soma from "Brave New World" and the 'injections' from "The Giver". The name is a portmanteau of the actual prescription drugs prozac and opium.
@Justin.Franks3 жыл бұрын
They originally wanted to call the drug Librium, but that is the brand name for an actual anti-anxiety prescription drug.

This was also Dominic Purcell`s first US film:He was the resistance leader hiding classical paintings from the Librian Government and Clerics at the start.

If you don`t know who Dominic Purcell is, he`s an English-born Australian actor known for doing one of the most convincing fake American accents on screen. He`s best- known for the Sci-Fi series "John Doe" as the titular character,"Prison Break","Blade Trinity","The Flash" and "Legends of Tomorrow" .

If it is okay, I would like to make a Movie Reaction Video request (I have actually made this same exact request to a lot of other Movie Reactors here on KZbin and some of them have indeed granted it and done it). If you haven't already seen it yet then is there any chance you can do a Reaction Video to the Movie "John Carpenter's THE THING" ? If Yes then it is an R-rated Science Fiction Horror Movie that came out back in 1982 and it stars Kurt Russell.

Fascism? NO, fascism is mainly nationalistic, and nationalism is a feeling so It would also be repelled in this movie society. The regime in this movie is actually more similar to socialism/communism.
@AspieMediaBobby3 жыл бұрын
Communism is a stateless,classless,moneyless society. Socialism is either the stage between the imaginary "Dictatorship of the proletariat" and full-on communism(In the Marxist versions)or a synonym for communism itself(Pretty much every other version save Social Democracy which is basically "Capitalism with a human face").Nationalism is basically a cover for xenophobia,corporatism,cult of personality around a charismatic(Usually white Anglo-Saxon Protestant cishet male) leader seen as the voice of God within The State and absolute State control in fascism.
@perrymanso68413 жыл бұрын
@@AspieMediaBobby You have no fucking clue at all. There's nothing more pro-state than Socialism, precisely Capitalism is mainly liberal which totally wants the state reduced at It's minimum or even destroyed. So, I don't know wtf are you talking about, well, reading your "cis-white-christian-male phobia", I can easily guess why. YOU the socialist ARE the system, NOT the revolution, remember my words.
