The negative side of it is the restroom being outside very inconvenient and for that price I think it's pricey. My advice is you need to keep looking because a bathroom is very important especially if you don't feel good.

For 20k its alright, beach and bar right nearby... Once the landscaping fixed it will be far better and can make area for activities! For peeing you just get a bottle when your alone or plant a lemon tree off the balcony ;) I think you live mostly outside right and make friends with the locals.... this place just for sleeps and chilling now and then between the busy social life. Haha and if a typhoon was scheduled probably take shelter somewhere else !

I say take it!!! Seriously consider settling boundaries...in terms of Kat(Cat) severe that connection my friend. Start fresh and please this time , let no money be involved. The bathroom, being 'outside,' is not a problem, in my opinion. You have the whole place to yourself. At least there's a hot shower and a nice toilet. A little bit of TLC would make it look more homey. Adding some landscaping with plants and flowers would be great. Get that house, Michael! It's not the best, but it's decent. The bright side is, all conveniences are within reach! Best of luck in getting that deal!

I lime that soft bag that you have. I had one for years and it was the best for travelling. Look at getting a mini Cargo Net for motorbikes. They make everything more secure on the back or you can add a 2nd bag and strap it down very easily. Good luck on the apartment - I also think 25K is to high but if you really want to live on the beach then go for it. I did the beach life years ago and it was great - you should have that experience too. Let us know the outcome !!

It's ON the beach, everyone saying too pricey, but are they considering location? And it may be a bit high. It's beachfront. 🤷‍♂ I would put a porta potty on the balcony for late night CR needs. If wanted, take it down in the morning and back up at night. You could just add a curtain on the balcony you could let down during your CR break. I am an outdoor guy, I would spend more time on the ground floor patio.

Novel concept- fixing up a rental. I've own 15 units over 10 years, but my tenants never elicit that type of thought. I would like a flat beach for running. I'd hate to have to walk to the loo during the stormy season.

The design reminds me of my grandparents' traditional house (Nipa Hut/Bahay Kubo) with a bathroom outside (outhouse). Houses were built with stilts so water can freely go under incase of floods or used as chicken coops.

@vian101 it DOES resemble them, but the roof shape kinda threw me. I’ve been told all kinds of animals were kept under the raised floor, whatever you had.

@vian. Yes nipa or that woven fiber used for bed mats traditionally? Anahaw, I don’t know that term, but maybe that’s what you mean. But something about the general shape didn’t strike me as traditional kubo forms, but sorry I can’t describe without rewatching, can’t recall why exactly. Seemed maybe Asian but not Filipino? But then & again, this is just casual observations of not a Philippine resident nor an architecture scholar! I just enjoy photos, pics, etc, don’t recall ever actually being in or seeing an original nipa hut….

I meant the overall home reminds me of kubo, but the roof shape didn’t seem quite to fit that “style” or form….but that was just my 1st impression & im not an expert at all anyways. It is just …charming if he does get it that he will be living in a sense very traditionally.

@@wintersojourn9356 anahaw is a type of fan palm but the one used in weaving I think is called buri. You're right about the roof, maybe they were trying to make it look more modern? Or make way for additional windows? The shape of Ifugao roofing kinda looks similar but it also resembles Indian traditional houses (The Arsh).

It’s not only easy for electricity it’s easy to clean. You could get one of those 4000 watt solar generators and still has 2000 watts for your equipment. The only downside is not having another room and having all your studio equipment cluttered in your bedroom/kitchen.

Well it is minimalist. The Office work space will be interesting. Worth having a chat with the neighbors first though. See what you can find out, and maybe see if anything else is on offer around there. But also what the situation is next door. Also make sure to mention what a lovely pool they have. Ya never know.

Hey Michael, Mark here. I live at beach in Punta Engano and Love waking up to ocean every day. ve been following your hunt. To be honest, that place may start to feel very cramped after a while. You already put offer in so good luck. I do worry that the bathroom situation and tiny indoor space for your things may get tight. Maybe you can put in a small "shed" on lot for your personal items? Anyway, good luck on whatever works for you---

Put the bed up /loft it, as in your friend’s daughter’s room, (the friend you stayed at he & his wife’s place with B after leaving the 1st Ilo2 rental); so you can have room under for a desk. Maybe not your main work space, but an extra desk/table. Just like college dorms….Or could be storage space for whatever.

Looks like you like Roxas City, I actually from Roxas City Baybay my house is between the beach and the airport just before Tanduay Warehouse on the way to the beach. I knew a foreigner that lived in front of the beach he lived in the apartment cost him like 12 or 15K per month. A bit far from Cocobeach restaurant.

my thoughts: . it is a bit expensive for what it is. I'd pay 16k MAX but with permission to do landscaping and some development on the ground floor as it is a big space on the ground with a lot of potential! e.g. possibly extend covered area to include CR area so dont get wet going to CR. The ground floor at the moment needs work to be amazing. Ground could be kitchen and living room eating relax area. Is it only rental ? How much to buy? Buying can turn this into dreamland property...💗

Good luck, it def seems to suit more of a 1-2 night stay place with just enough room for making coffee and tiny fridge (prob v noisy) n room . Looks like will be very cramped one desk n ur pc screens plus tv. With shower outside downstairs (especially if ur not well 🥺). Suggestions prob to late but at first I’d do short term lease with written option in you favor on lease to extend if u want. Great spot but due to your difficulty in finding, are u just settling for something that’s to big a compromise?

Of course he is still vulnerable to the illnesses, like dengue or malaria, but maybe that’s not a big deal in that area. I’m interested in the reply to this question.
