"I love it we all know that there's gonna be an inevitable scene at the end where she does almost the same thing after her character growth…" One of my favorite things about this movie that few ppl talk about is it completely reimagines what a third act action setpiece could do. Also, This is seriously one of my favorite movies right now, and it's really fun to see what other people think of it. There are so many details you notice on repeat viewings. Like, a lot of themes around circles (laundrymat machines, mirrors, bagles), and the fact that Jobu's "symbol" of nihilism: the Bagel, is the color opposite of Waymond's "Symbol" of existentialism: the Googly Eye. One a dark circle with a white center, the other a white circle with a dark center, also playing into the Yin/Yang symbology. I didn't cry when I watched it in the movie theater, but I have been crying every time I see it again; Waymonds "This is how I fight" speech really gets me, because I absolutely agree with him, and have had a similar view on things; just be kind. This movie Deserves all the Oscars, but I want it to win _at least_ One. It's such a different film, and it was made on a relatively small budget, in a short time, with relatively few actors, during a Pandemic no less. I think an Oscar win would mean a lot to people who want to make movies like this, but are afraid of getting shot down before they've even given the "elevator pitch".

its so unfortunate that the writer and director did not watch Wandavision or read the script. even more annoying when you remember that the writer said he wanted to be the first to use her as a main villain since according to insiders, it was always in the cards for her to eventually be the main villain in a bigger movie. just sucks he immediately jumped to her being evil with absolutely no recap or exposition. yes we knew she had the darkhold but without seeing the demise its just pointless

Loved your reaction. 🥰 The Daniels spoke about wanting to create a hero who blew away the fake 'beta male' characterization and whose kindness was his superpower. They also wanted to make an action film that didn't glorify violence. In the same interview, Daniel Kwan talked about absurdism, and how they work to see if they can make the ridiculous incredibly moving. What I love is that their 'thing' will always be a movie that's ultimately about the good In the world. After the negative, Internet-set-to-11, depressing, troll, anxiety, and virus-riddled past 5 or 6 years, this theme broke me, and a lot of other people. I first felt this when Waymond quoted the 'Story of a Girl' to Evelyn and said: "We don't trust our institutions, and all we can think is..." and Evelyn jumps in: "How can we get back?" There are so many truly inspiring things to analyze in this meaning-of-life film. What the disappointed critics and non-fans don't understand (and I honestly feel bad for them-I think they know) is the reason it won all the Oscars and hundreds of other awards is that none of the other movies could come close to the greatness that was the script, the actors' performances, the direction, the world-building, the costume design, the unparalleled attention to detail, the editing, and the heart of the film. It's as if every great movie nominated is a killer burger and fries. And Everything Everywhere All at Once is a 5-star buffet at the Burj-Al Arab hotel in Dubai. ❤👀🪨

The movie recently swept Oscars, and it rightfully deserved every reward it got. One of the modern masterpiece i've seen in recent years. Besides an interesting theme done well (multiverse), over-the-top hilarious action sequences, great editing and heartwarming drama, it's philosophically thought-provoking too. It tells the opposing approach to existentialism that questions our life's purpose and cripples most of us. Pessimistic nihilism vs. optimistic absurdism. The yinyang of everything bagel (black outside, white inside) vs google eyes (white outside, black inside). Empty void inside vs pure core inside. "Nothing matters so might as well destroy everything" vs "Nothing matters so might as well enjoy life". Waymond taught Evelyn and us the latter.

I love your reaction and emotions. My first time watching it I was annoyed at how fast it went. Now I've watched it 3 more times and I can't stop crying during it. It is a story about nihilism. If nothing we do matters, then the only thing that matters is what we do. If there's no eternal reward, then everything we do is our once in a lifetime chance to do something to help others. Not because of a reward, because it's our only chance to improve them in their life. Please say a prayer, make a wish, and bring kindness into to the world. -Frank

I cry all throughout this movie every time I watch it because it is so good that it overwhelms me. I watched it in theatres and I knew it would be a fantastic movie by the very first scene. I like how Waymond says that Evelyn always gets pulled away whenever he wants to talk with her about something, and that's exactly what happens back to her every time she reaches to say something to him. Alpha Waymond always steals him away before she can make that connection. I really love the "I see myself as a fighter too" and "I'm learning to fight like you" moments. This movie is the culmination of art, passion, and creativity. The story was incredible. The actors gave their all. The editor is a film student. The vfx team of less than 20 people were literally doing youtube tutorials together as they were making the film. This movie makes you laugh, cry, scratch your head and inspires you (every version of you). This is a masterpiece. Not just the best film of the year. But maybe one of the most important films of our generation. Proof that being original and trusting in your artistic vision is what modern cinema is lacking. We need more films like this. That take risks and aren't afraid of exploring the unconventional avenues. Despite their lack of resources they managed to make each world feel tangible and real. Every detail was intentional. In my opinion, this movie needed to exist. It needed to win all the awards it did. So the bigger studios could bear witness what making a film with heart and soul feels like. Disney and WB and Sony have their hands on so many great potential concepts and characters yet keep churning out generic nothingness with bad blue-green and lifeless stories. This movie was a refreshing detour from what everyone else is doing. It taps into raw emotion and beautifully merges philosophical concepts with raw humanity.

one of the most impactful movies i've seen in a LONG time. i've watched lots of reactions and you can tell a lot about people based on how they react to this movie.. and where they get teary-eyed. people have been breaking down the themes in the movie about nihilism and existentialism, but to me the most striking thing about this movie is the way it shows love (capital L) in an honest way. the painfulness and even power of it to save. love takes work, and i love the subtle illustration earlier in the movie where she has to say "i love you" to someone who's trying to kill her. ultimately, it's not "togetherness" but love that saves the day in the movie imo. it's not sappy or fluffy. most movies get the whole "power of love saves the day" thing wrong, but this one nails it!

This movie is sooo gooood! The whole case is amazing, but Stephanie Hsu . . . ❤ I've liked her in Mrs. Maisel, but everything she brings here blew me away. From put upon daughter to omnipotent multiverse overlord. I can't wait to see what she does in the future. And, I am all in on whatever the Daniels do after this. I finally watched Swiss Army Man after seeing this film and was not prepared for the emotional gut punch. The creativity in their visuals, storytelling and production design, but still packing in so much heart. How can a conversation between 2 rocks make me laugh out loud, then bring me to tears? I don't know how they can top EEAAO, but I'll be there to watch them try. Glad you finally watched this, Jess! Big mistake not having tissues on hand for this one. I believe open sobbing is the expected response.

Loved your reaction. Quick note. This film is also significant as the first featuring and about asian AMERICANS to be so successful. As an asian american who remembers a Hollywood that was so casually discriminatory towards asians and asian americans thus film had particular resonance. Glad you liked it

0:14-0:20 I do the exact same thing every Oscar season. And I actually did watch all 10 of them (two of them in theaters). I just wish they whittle the Best Picture nominees back down to five.

The most accurate movie title since "Snakes On a Plane." Fun fact, for the fight scene choreography, they hired some KZbinrs with a channel called "Martial Club" who do that stuff. Those are the butt-plug guys.

It's been years since I developed such a love and passion for a movie. EEAO is something I might NEVER see again in my lifetime. A movie that crushed my high expectations I had going in. It's funny, action-heavy, has visuals to impress, superb editing, gripping drama and so much emotional weight - how? How were they able to do ALL OF THIS on a budget of 25 million dollars?! We might never know. And they just managed to win seven of ten possible Oscars and well deserved too, especially for Michelle Yeoh, who delivers the best performance of her career and is STILL overshadowed by Ke Huy Quan, who might very well have broken some kind of record for the most successful comeback role of all time.

I will continue to shout from the rooftops how amazing this movie is to anyone who will listen. I don't care if sounds like hyperbole, but this movie literally cured my depression. I've always been a bit of a nihlist who believed that nothing we did matters. I was Jobu without the cool powers. I believed that, eventually, the human race will end, the sun will explode, the universe will collapse in on itself, etc... so why bother? What is the point of life and living, if nothing we do matters. This movie taught me a different way to view that same nihilism: if nothing we do matters, then all that matters is what we do. We can profoundly effect the world we live in just by being kind. Whether you believe in "religion" or "god" or "a higher power" or just that we are a giant coincidence created by billions of things going EXACTLY right to create a living being that can perceive the universe which created it. None of that matters. What matters is what we do with the time that we're here. That's all. Nothing else. It doesn't matter if our efforts are appreciated, or even noticed, because we control how we perceive the universe in which we live! This movie is a modern miracle that spoke to my soul, and no matter how many times I watch it, I'm exhausted from crying at the end. This movie really is..... EVERYTHING. And to top everything off, last night, they win seven of the eleven Oscars they were nominated for! I don't think I've ever actually cheered aloud at an award announcement, but I sure as heck did for this movie! Louder and louder each time they won and literally stood up and danced for the Best Picture! Thank you for sharing your reaction to this movie here with us.

Not the Starbucks napkin lol.But relatable, I rarely ever cry on movies but that last talk where Evelyn talk to joy about cherishing any speck of time where anything make sense. That thing hit me like a brick and ended up crying.

I truly deeply pray this movie has shaken up Hollywood at least a bit. We don't need $200m+ budget CGI-fests (love you, Marvel, but reality check) to tell truly compelling heartfelt stories. Just look at what the Daniels did here with under $25m.
