Rick Van Dam no one was interrupting anybody tbh, the guy called her out and she responded by addressing the mayor saying she needed to respond at which point the guy said, “I’m gonna involve you here in a minute.” So interruption is not really an issue here. The issue is the guy spoke to her in a very disrespectful manner, and even said, “When I want you to stop talking I’ll hold my hand up just like the mayor does.” As if he had the same authority in that situation as the mayor. He showed blatant disregard for decorum, and all signs for why point to bigotry.

Just because you hear or see conservative media pull up some liberal school living in some district to throw attacks at frame the left as extreme does not mean that that it is indicative of the entirety of the LGBT community. They are people too. The fact of the matter is that there is still huge stigma around people of LGBT background and identity and for many in this community, it’s quite unbearable. This isn’t about pushing a leftist agenda and indoctrinating our schools, this is about representation.

When I end up having kids and they start asking me why some people are angry at a beautifully coloured flag, that's when I'll be embarrassed. When, what I assume is fully grown adults, cannot comprehend or deal with a square cloth in multiple colours, that's when I know we're not doing enough to educate people and stop the ignorant, misinformation spreading people that by all means should just be removed for society.
