People who make fun of deku for crying need to know this: He got bullied by his whole school through kinder-middle/junior high. He’s depressed but still smiles the brightest . He’s helped people and witnessed deaths that are traumatizing to him He didn’t have a dad that watched him grow He has social anxiety because he’s been bullied physically and emotionally. Aight look ... I can't express enough how much I like Deku and how much mha and izuku really inspired my dreams . Before watching the anime, before reading the manga , much like Mr Horikoshi and Midoriya himself I had anxiety and many people had so many expectations of me . Expectations I never thought I could live upto . I was awkward and liked to draw and wanted to make manga and no matter if people said I was good or not I myself didn't feel that I could draw a full on interesting story . I had so many concepts and ideas I wanted to do but I lost interest very fast and this began to refelct in day to day life where I just felt miserable and began keeping to myself , even locking myself out from my friends even tho I tried staying optimistic . But after watching a Mha amv ... I was entranced (I also never really watched anime or ready too many manga but mha got me hooked on so many great and amazing animes and now I'm a weeb) the moment I watched the anime and was introduced to Deku , I believed in myself and like how All Might is Dekus idol , Deku is mine . He showed me anyone can be a hero and to never give up on your dreams and that's what I did . I was in middle school at the time , I'd say end of 7th start if 8th? And I was already pretty strong and fast compared to the people on my football team(no that I think about it , I was abnormally superhuman compared to everyone else , they were actually kinda scared to go against me when we put on shoulder pads) but I realized even tho I may be good now , I want to be better and so I trained everyday and every night before and after school . I still train every night and it really shows but I didn't just train to be and feel better but because ... I want to be a Hero a real life superhero . That's always been my dream and as a matter of fact , all my manga/comic ideas were based around me becoming a hero and going on adventures . I watched anime training montages , built a playlist of mha amvs to train to (which also introduced me to the best band out there ,AJR) and no matter how much I wanted to give up , no matter how much I felt I couldn't do it , I pushed through because like saitama , I had that fire in my eyes . My personality became super optimistic and my determination and willpower became so much stronger I also really started wanting to help people and Luke Deku .... Started crying alot , happy tears of course . I really believe/believed in myself and now that I'm going to 9th grade I really feel like I can be a hero . My art style and drawing have really improved and I have so many more talents and skills and before the Covid roled around , I would go around my neighborhood trying to make people smile and do good . I skipped over alot but ... I really just want to be a hero and that may not be my "destiny" but in the words of one of my favorite Netflix shows(trollhunters)" destiny is a gift , don't think become" . Well I'm done and damn I skipped ALOT but yeah I want to be a real life superhero , doing parkour from building to building

Or he got more involved with tech and became an assist variant version of Iron Man and later became as capable as quirkless Mirio who could flip Overhaul several times....except he has like advanced knowhow and advance in quirk neutralization. I do think Mirio is also worthy of being an OFA user but I think Deku having OFA is better. Besides, Deku has grown quite a lot as a character ever since Season 1. Also, note that All Might hasn't died yet so Deku STILL has that character growth missing. Remember when Nana Shimura sacrificed herself for All Might, well after that point All Might grew even stronger because of her death. The same thing will happen to All Might dying in order to 'boost' Deku.

I didn’t think a Deku was a trash character. The STORY however tells me he is because stakes feel especially one sided when he’s involved. Like every time he faces a especially OP villain, instead of using his overthinking character type to outthink his opponent, he usually just overpowers them but the costs of his overpowering seems cheap because he use to just heal after a while until there’s too much damage to heal...then Eri came into play. Deku could just lose his arms and legs entirely and go full 100 to one punch when he needs to overpower and as long as Eri is around, it doesn’t feel like much is lost when he faces someone much more experienced. Think Hunter X Hunter perfected these types of characters that outsmart more powerful opponents. You think with all these Spider-Man inspirations, Deku would use his brain when taking on advanced opponents but he either overpowers or pulls a new quirk out his butt and I for one just find it much less interesting than the villains stories or Other heroes. Also believe Deku probably shouldn’t have gotten One for All unlike what people say in world, it doesn’t feel like his power, just watered down overhyped All Might’s. Deku feels more suited to an Iron Man/Black Panther style of move set remaining quirkless.

I thought of alternatives about deku, Note: that I still love deku’s character 1) One is that he was born with a quirk, but was unaware of it cause it was subtle, thus he was still bullied viciously for being quirkless, eventually when met all might where he told him he couldn’t be a hero, it got so bad that he actually tried to commit suicide. After jumping off the school roof and landing on the ground his quirk kicks in which is hyper regeneration. I believe that this is the ideal quirk for him because of his self sacrificing nature. He’s not a hero that can blow away anything, but a hero that can endure any hardship, which should be very useful in hero society. He resent all might and goes to ua to prove him wrong, but could only get into general studies where he meets shinso and trains in martial arts under a new master. In the sports festival is where he shows that he is a hero who can overcome everything by enduring all of the different quirks in the festival. Super moves Removal: removes the brains limits on his body Advance: forces the heart to pumps more blood throughout his body Ascension: combination of both removal and ascension

What would have happened if deku didn’t receive AfO? Deku would probably in real life, have had given up on his dream and just become an ordinary citizen. Watching everyday life go by and watching hero’s jump from roof to roof saving lives. Reminiscing on the life he could’ve had. It’s sad, but true! I know lots of folks who had dreams to become big in life, but because they weren’t born with talent or had developed an aptitude to learn something and improve upon it, they simply just quit. I have sat and ate lunch with folks who told me they had the opportunity of a lifetime to become millionaires but never took it and regret it. I like hirokoshi and his style of realism.

During the battle with Tomura, All Might is going make Eri use her quirk on him to the point where he has One for all again and battle the new Shiragaki but since Eri can’t control her quirk it will result in the death of All Might. Lol just a hair brain theory.

I feel like it would be better to make deku quirkless and more like Batman because he would appeal more to the west because we all like Batman and deku would be the alternative to how goku is like Superman and how cool would be for deku to be releasing smoke bombs and rockets out of his fists and as a alternative to one for all he would release wind out of his hand when he punches but either way deku is a great character

Deku not having a power and still having the will power and determination to still chase his dream of becoming a hero thru his high level Wit and Gidgets would've been a better choice it would've been a fresh take on the Shonen protagonist. deku's story theme could've been that a true hero could be anyone even if you don't have a quirk...he could've totally been a batman like character which would've been awesome 😢😔
