How often should you do this?

That depends on how much you print. I change brass nozzles every few days, about every 40 hours to be exact. Hardened steel nozzles last me about 3 months of 24/7 printing. There are visual clues you can look for, like excessive blobs/rough surface and generally worse quality prints than you are used to getting. Hope this helps, happy printing!

They are standard channel lock pliers, you can find them at any place that sells tools.
