What adapter did you use have a part number? Was it sold as a kit or did it come with a shaft or anything??

I bought the adaptor from advanced adaptor. When I got it, that’s when I noticed the turbo 400 to np205 adaptor was almost exactly the same thing as what I just bought.

@@Blacksheepcustom so did you have to put in a vss ring in the 205? I’m looking at 32 spline that came off sm465 transmission and I think all I need is that adapter but I see they sale it all in a kit. I don’t need anything extra other than the mount

@@justinpeacock2937 yea was their adaptor. A gasket and seal. Then I sent them the tail housing to get machined for vss

So either would work for a np205 sm465 swapped to np205 to 4l80e?

You going from the sm465 to 4l80e then yes from what I can see one will just require some grinding. Also you will need the vss drilled into the tail housing of the np205 unless your doing a Manuel valve body.

How did you seal up the rear holes above and below the tranny tail shaft?

There is an open hole above and below the tail shaft barring. Mine is blowing fluid thru the Adaptor and Dana 300

Did you have to shorten the 2wd 4L80e´s output shaft?

I had the 4wheel drive 4l80 with the correct size output shaft. Don’t quote me I believe you can cut the 2wd to length to make it work or remove the 2wd output shaft and use it in the 4wd trans. There’s some pretty good forums in regards to the output shaft and what lengths you’ll need, I can’t remember off the top of my head.

356 T6 aluminum casting has greater strength than the nodular iron THM400. Improved ductility too. The metal is much more expensive too, cost of casting and machining about the same.

That may be true, but who’s ever heard of a adaptor breaking? So to save a few hundred bucks I would have just made the one I had work. All good tho.

Bitchin info! Going to save me some bucks, thanx eh! Did you run driver or passenger side drop? I am going to cut down the output on my2wd 4L80 and go with a driver side 205 for my Chevy G30 van. Cheers!

4l80e is a 32 spline output. Did you swap out the input on the np205?

I didn’t have to change anything, just got the adapter and it all bolted up

@@Blacksheepcustom your Np205 had the 32 spline input already then! That’s good! I have the 10 spline input. The case has to get machines to fit the larger bearing on the 32 spline input

@@SubePelayo928 90mm OD bearing. Easy to machine, once set up. I got lucky, my truck came with a figure 8 pattern, 90mm input bearing OD and long input shaft. Still looking for a good 4x4 4l80e

The 400 adapter won’t fit a 4l80e, it has to be machines to fit. With the cost of labor, you might as well buy the AA unit, lighter and stronger!

Did you watch the video? I explained that. You can do the machining with a grinder no problem.

@@Blacksheepcustom yes I watched it! You can’t machine down a circle ⭕️ with a grinder. The 400 circle is a larger diameter than the 4l80, has to be done on a lathe.

@@Blacksheepcustom Hey boss, question I have a 4L80e 4x4 and want to swap it with my TH400 with a np208, you think that mount will bolt right up with any further milling as you suggested? 4L80e with NP208 using the TH400 mount(like the one in the video).

@@DoggyDogYT I’m not to sure. I used the 205. If the 205 and 208 share the same mount then I think it’s safe to say yes. But I honestly don’t know
