It's funny. I'm a UI designer for films in real life and I picked my a class based on the dash design! So the dash was the most important thing for me 😂

Phenomenal video as always Nick. They definitely need to drop the price by a couple of grand though. I mean it costs more than what a top of the range Sony TV does…
@npoleary2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Dharmin! 🤓 I know what you mean however I guess quite a lot of it would be the single curved glass across the dashboard (the production process) and it does have to withstand extreme heats from summers and extremely cold winters as cars would usually be exposed to all sorts!

Thanks for another great video, Nick. Sort of like the new gas-powered S Class, this level of digitalization scares me as I suspect the cars would be virtually undriveable should the center screen fail. Since they're clearly OEM only, I'd hate to even imagine the replacement cost.

Could you do an in-depth video on the screens in the back seat please? Stuff like is it possible to use them to watch prime or netflix live (stream), how to watch your personal content from your phone? Is it possible to upgrade the screen or would they be over the air support updated? What about if both rear passengers want to watch different movies? I heard there is a TV service with the eqs suv. Many thanks
@npoleary2 жыл бұрын
Hey Cymro1970, sadly there aren’t any screens in the back on this model. I know what you mean though, I’ve seen some specifications of Mercedes round the world do have the option for rear screens but sadly not in the UK on this one. However I will cover the rear screens if I get my hands on a car that has it! 🤓

Great Video Nick! Love your videos, I learn so much. Question - On the passenger side screen, if you change the ambient color, radio station, or climate temperature, do those changes impact the center screen settings, or are these changes made by the passenger, independent of the center screen's settings? Thanks.
@npoleary2 жыл бұрын
Thank you gerard! Ambient lighting would change the whole car unless you dimmed one zone or something, radio stations can just change it for you if you have headphones or earphones on. And the Climate Control can be completely separate, there are separate buttons for both and sometimes even the back too!
@jp69752 жыл бұрын
It's really nice and quite a thing to look at. However... it doesn't offer much more than the standard screen and it's an £8,000 option! Mimd you, if you're going for one of the top trim models or an AMG version then I expect it's lunch money (and probably at "must spec option for future saleability" anyway). Looking forward to the in-depth review. Apparently the passenger screen can't be seen by the driver. Intrigued how you'll film that.. 😄

Great video! Can you show how Apple CarPlay and Android Auto looks like in these new screens?
@npoleary2 жыл бұрын
It’s full screen on the centre one 🤓 (minus the temperature bit at the bottom) Left one stays as is for the passenger and the right one stays as it is for the driver 👍🏼

Nice…..but a serious question, maybe an idea for a video. How is Mercedes preparing service centers to handle the complications of system failures/errors on these high tech computer based systems. Surely the technicians who handle mechanical issues can’t be expected to do IT services as well.
@npoleary2 жыл бұрын
Hey Wayne, well I don’t know for sure but I’d imagine that technicians probably have extensive training on systems advanced as the ones in cars today. Plus I bet it walks them through bit by bit what they need to do

Hi, do I need to worry about screen radiation of my GLE450 2020, is there a way to decrease that radiation? Mark
@npoleary2 жыл бұрын
Hey Mark, although I’m no expert in that field all devices (phones, cars, laptops etc) are tested for radiation levels as part of health and safety requirements. They’ll fall on acceptable levels that we would usually experience day to day when out and about.

What’s the difference between the screens

One’s for instrument cluster (speed etc) One’s for Navi, Radio, Media & Tel And the passenger one is the passengers own personal screen mirroring the middle one 🤓

Surely this must represent some risk, in terms of distractions. Ii's illegal in the UK to use your phone, but the cognitive distractions of a 141 cm visual toy dossn't seem to be?
