First saw Emmylou in concert when she was pregnant many years ago. Went with my mom last year to see her in concert and this time we had the pleasure of meeting her. She not only sounds better than she ever did, but she is more beautiful now.

My Dear boyfriend Russell died yesterday. He fought a long painful battle with cancer. Driving away from his house this song came on the radio, NPR. I had never heard in before. It felt like a gift from God to hear it at the peak of my sorrow. The sun was breaking through the rain clouds. Emmylou captures how many of us feel about the suffering and pain the person we love has endured, and that they are finally leaving that behind. Goodnight my Sweetheart.

Many years ago, I spent my summers not far from St.Sauveur,Quebec but was oblivious to my neighbor songbirds the McGarrigle sisters Anna & KATE of which Emmylou sings. A heartfelt tribute to friend I wish I had known. Thank you. Merci
