I would listen to this song every day but a night before one of the scariest exam papers, I listened to this song and the words " late in the midnight hour God's gonna turn it around, it's gonna work in your favor" sounded like I heard them for the first time. At that moment I knew God got me in that exam the next day. And now I'll be graduating 🥺✨

Everything this man touches turns into crazy diamonds. Sometimes I can't believe that he is real... that he is only human. Love him so much. 💖 And the vocalist with white hair is out of this world... All of these musicians are incredible.

Elliott Skinner is an absolute beast!! His control of pitch and timbre is just otherworldly. He reminds me a lot of Yebba, another James Francies collaborater and another of my absolute faves!

Saw him with Pat Metheny in a trio setting last year, my son and I were absolutely blown away! Impeccable musician. If you have a chance check him out on that recording.

I’m actually apprehensive about listening to these selections on say , Spotify and the rest because many of these artist sound better on Tiny Desk somehow. This does not diminish any of their commercial works.

Anyone know who the narrator was on the final track? I'm pretty sure that Me'shell N'degeocello Used some of his speaking on her Cookie album! I'd like to find more of his words! fwiw, Me'shell trailblazed this approach from her Plantation Lullabies album onward!
