@@paperclipster6923she really does and she's at the age where her voice is finally settling and allowing her to really control it without any fear and put power behind it. She's so well trained from Interlochen as well that she's got it in a safe place placement wise. Rare in pop. She's going to have an incredible career. Amazing voice, great writer, great dancer, trusts her look team to take risks, and has a refreshingly authentic personality.

I'll be 40 in a couple of weeks. I know there's still good music being made, I'm just not as good at finding it anymore. I've been checked out of pop for a while, but sometimes I luck into stuff like this. Chappel Roan is a huge talent and has the take-no-sh*t ethos we need more of these days. Nothing but respect.

I like how she only dresses like “Chappell” when she performs. In interviews she dresses without any of the glam. It makes this feel less like a persona for the sake of virality and marketing and more like a genuine passion project, an art piece just like for a drag queen.

The office setting definitely helps (carpet floor and acoustic tile ceilings), and the irregular pattern of fibrous materials (books/bookshelves) contributes further to cutting down sound reflections. The microphone choice (shotgun style) allows for them to get the mic closer with a narrower audio field, isolating each part to a significant degree. Also, just really talented engineers that are used to working in the space.
