Now there's a huge scandal on how doctor David Sinclair tricked the pharmaceutic company GSK to sell them his patent on resveratrol 720M$... before they found out it didn't work. Hi Bryan. You have to be careful with how you use the word ‘effective’. There are already dozens of clinical studies that have shown that taking NAD+ boosting supplements leads to increased levels of NAD+ in the body. Crucially, however, collectively these clinical trials have also shown that - over the time period tested - NAD+ supplementation has no significant health benefits in healthy humans. I am a scientist at the University of Cambridge, UK and am in the process of putting together a review of the entire scientific literature on NAD+ boosting supplements. I can share if you are interested.

Yes because a sample of 1 is the scientific way to go. Just as everyone's opinion without data doesn't count as you say, so does the definition of science, which doesn't change just because you have another ignorant opinion. And if everyone has an opinion these days, mine is that you won't contribute at all to the longevity subject.
@adityarao2134 Жыл бұрын
The worry is that these NAD boosting effects are transient in a a sense and homeostatic processes may bring these to baseline over time. This is why we need to consider more and look beyond point in time bio markers and be considering the pharmacokinetic effects. A logical next step here might be approaching the relationship between epigenetics and NAD levels. Thoughts?

@CraigHocker2 ай бұрын
It would have been better if you had then tried some of the not talked about dirt cheap options. Forms of niacin. Nicotinic acid, nicotinamide, and some form of these along with D-Ribose. These are know to boost NAD also. Based on studies, it’s very likely that ALL or almost all of the NR or NMN is broken down into nicotinamide by your gut microbiome. So taking NR or NMN end up being just expensive ways to ingest vitamin B3. All of these including what you took will raise the NAD in the blood. Measuring NAD in the blood is easy but what really matters is what the NAD levels IN cells of various tissues and that is harder to do and rarely done in studies. And when it is done there is evidence that it does not drop with age. It’s quite likely that raising NAD in the blood by oral supplementation has NO anti-aging or longevity effect in humans. So no, you really added nothing to the discussion. It was already known that these are expensive ways to boost NAD in the blood. 🙄
