NRA Gun of the Week: CVA Cascade

The Cascade bolt-action rifle comes from a manufacturer known for do-it-yourself muzzleloader build kits and long-range capable inline rifles loaded from the muzzle. This manufacturer, CVA, also known as Connecticut Valley Arms, has been in the business since 1971, and has done a good job of producing valuable tools to the hunting and shooting communities. The addition of a bolt-action model within the company’s lineup positions the brand for a deeper market of hunters and shooters, as well as brand loyalists who fell in love with the company back in ’71.
The modern bolt-action Cascade rifle features a guided, three-lug bolt, which results in a 70-degree throw and speedy manipulation. A reinforced polymer stock supports the barreled action, which is available in many common chamberings, both long- and short-action types. A detachable box magazine is also included. CVA allows for adjustment to the length-of-pull of its Cascade rifle and caps the spacers and stock with a Crushzone recoil pad.
Veil Wideland camouflage is used to color the stock, which is an attractive finish that blends well with myriad surroundings. The rifle is equipped with sling swivel studs, three total, so that users seeking to attach a bipod and sling can do so easily. The rifle's modern features, such as detachable box magazine, adjustable stock, dual swivel studs along the fore-end, threaded muzzle, three-lug bolt, adjustable trigger and Cerakote finish, we found create an effective value-driven product that users will find joy in shooting.

Got one at Walmart in 6.5CM, with a Konus 3x9x40, for $593 about 3 days ago. Very accurate right out of the box. I went in to buy a Savage 110 and came home with this. Better stock, threaded barrel, trigger adjusts without removing the stock, dual sling studs on forearm for a bipod/sling setup...great gun!

price in australia and availability a factor I love the riflr spec and reviews so far the stock in camo and cerokoye definiyely better than classic wood and blueing for use

Ya I took two forward mount from my formerly replaced scopes w mounts off my rem 700 and used them. It’s mix or match kinda but the thing is absolutely impressive. 350 leg. Leapold rifleman. Btw love the trigger over 70,700 and I don’t own those savages so idk if I can speak for the others yet

Do they make 10 round 308 mags for this thing? Also, the word 'articulate' has nothing to do with mechanical function unless its out of your mouth. The correct word is ACTUATE! I hate it when people are too lazy to lookup the meaning of a word before they use it just because they thought they understood the meaning from the context given by the surrounding words. Don't be lazy people. Spend the same time you spend learning about your rifle learning how to use the english language. Or don't use big words unless you plan on knowing what they mean first.

'Articulate' can also refer to connected parts and the action of moving such parts. Seems a bit rich to lecture people about being too lazy to check the meaning of the word they are using without actually bothering to check for alternative meanings of that word.
