(not sure if it is picked up later, but i may forget to comment if I don't do it now) The creature has Ward: pay 2 life. this means that to target it, the targetter must pay 2 life or the ability/spell is countered. You don't have to pay 2 life to activate it, it's always on.

There was also a missed trigger the following turn (38:39) in which an opponent was damaged from the pain land, meaning Valgavoth should have gotten a counter and drawn a card.

Last week, my friends and I played commander, and one of them played a slightly modified version of that Aminatou deck. Watching this is giving me PTSD flashbacks 😅 That deck goes *hard* unless someone has an enchantment board wipe... 35:20 You got that wrong, Laurie. "Ward -- Pay 2 life" means anyone who targets it must pay 2 life to do so; it doesn't mean you have to pay life while they pay mana. It's much better than your version 😁 59:00 Whenever a card says "you", that always refers to the controller of that card. So when it says choose a creature "you don't control", it doesn't mean a creature the chooser doesn't control; it means everyone has to pick a creature that you, Laurie, don't control. (Wally seems to have mentioned this right after, but I wasn't sure if it was clear to everyone, so I figured I'd mention it explicitly.) I didn't pause to get the timestamp for this, but Dom's treefolk shouldn't be a 1/1. The scheme Wally played made creatures a *base* power/toughness of 1/1; that treefolk already had a base of 0/0, the extra buffs were on top of that base. So actually, that treefolk should have been 1 *bigger* that turn.

Lovely surprise seeing this series comeback. All these MTG games they've been playing has caused youtube to recommend a lot of card game content and so I have come across Slay the Spire. Which is both a board game and a video game so it would be really cool if they did a video on it. They could even do 2, one for NRB and another for Control Freaks.

I loved the first episode of this, and I was so hoping for more and I absolutely still am, but I'm hoping that more explanation of the game and the mechanics can be done in future. I feel in the first episode, the host aspect, and the expect really worked to make sure the players and viewer understood what was happening at any given second and I don't feel like the same care was made here. I've always felt MTG has been unwelcoming to newcomers and I was hoping this would be the intro I'd been missing, but I honestly was only more confused by the end. I'm excited to see the return of the Versus series but having an uninvolved host would perhaps be beneficial?

Miracle is a bit weird, it happens the time you draw the card. In this case in the draw phase. Even when it's not an instant. That's why Terminus with Sensei's Divining Top is so powerful. You can cast it as an instant speed sweeper.
