Nreal Air w/ the Red Magic Gaming Dock paired with the Steam Deck

This video helped me decide whether I should buy one or not :D So I recently got mine and yes everything works perfectly on my Deck! Used my Rokid Air to play whilst charging! No slow charging errors and no disconnections etc. Just plain smooth gaming with limitless power :)

Haven't had luck finding one that has both Power Delivery and audio+video output. Most on the market only supports PD and Audio. The Nubia redmagic dock in this video is the only one I've found that fits the requirement.

I don't use a steam deck just my galaxy S22 ultra. I want to be able to use the glasses while charging the phone. Will it work even though I'm not using it for a steam deck?

Hey I noticed your screen on the deck turned off when you connected to adapter and phone...any idea if that would be the case with a phone? Annoying having to hide your screen from prying eyes while using the glasses

Just got mine today. Bought it on newegg. Took about a whole week to get it. It shipped from California through ups and then ups gave it to usps. Haven't tested it yet but I should not have any problems.

If you own a steam deck and want to use these BUYER BEWARE. I got these as a group gift this year. They never worked so I thought they were faulty and sent them back and bought another pair and it was having the same issues. My friend also has a Steam Deck, so I brought the glasses over to his house, plugged then into his, and they worked perfectly. I then proceeded to reset my steam deck to factory default and even after doing this, it still didn’t work for me. The screen on the Deck goes black, but no image is projected to the glasses even though it works perfectly on his. So my friend and I decided to swap steam decks. My friend, then proceeded to open both of the steam decks and low and behold there were different chips and configurations on each ones mobo. It seems that some lots of the Deck may not work with the glasses. I just wanted to put out a PSA that this is an issue and if you run into the same problem, it’s more than likely not the glasses that don’t work, but something to do with your Deck itself.

Unfortunately these won't work with the Switch. I tried it meself. Works great on my Steam Deck but never worked on my Switch. Also read some stuff on Reddit talking about this and it appears it has something to do with some incompatilibity between the red magic gaming dock and Switch's PD profile or something.

@@citizenterra I tried everything and the perfect alternative is the red magic studio software. It's insanely crazy! I only need wifi now and it has the same exact quality or even better than a wired one! My mind is blown up! You should try it.

I bought the nreal air glasses and also this dock after watching this video and seeing how easy it is. When I plug in the glasses directly into the deck they don’t project video only sound. The screen on the deck goes black, but no video signal is transmitted to the glasses. The same issue when using this dock. What am I missing here?

@@sensasianone_battlestation2433 yes I did. All the green check marks showed up for all the steps. One thing I don’t have is the nreal hdmi adapter. Do I need that for it to work? Oh, and I also plugged the glasses into my iPad Pro and they work with that. After I found out that works, I downloaded Steam Link to see if I could play like that and it does work. Unfortunately the screen is flipped in portrait mode with no way to change it to landscape as far as I can tell. If I could only flip the screen I’d be in good shape.
