[NS] Mijn Oude Stationsomroepberichten ↔️ [Dutch Railways] My Old Station Announcements

🇳🇱 Sinds eind 2021 is Karin ‘de stem’ van alle Nederlandse treinstations. Voor die tijd werd de automatische omroepberichtgeving op het station verzorgd door Tuffy, die vlak na de eeuwwisseling op het station werd geïntroduceerd.
Hoewel Tuffy al een groot deel van de functie van de stationsomroeper had overgenomen, waren er tot eind 2021 nog een groepje menselijke ‘omroepers’ in dienst bij NS die verantwoordelijk waren voor het monitoren van het treinverkeer en het verzorgen van correcte en tijdige reisinformatie, waaronder berichtgeving waar Tuffy om technische redenen niet mee om kom gaan.
Ik was 1 van die mensen. Ik begon bij de afdeling Reisinformatie in 2017, toen de automatisering al grotendeels had toegeslagen. In de loop van 2021 ben ik elders binnen NS aan de slag gegaan. Eind 2021 heeft Karin, de nieuwe stem van het station zowel de functie van Tuffy als die van de laatste mensen achter de knoppen overgenomen.
Enkele malen in mijn tijd bij NS Reisinformatie heb ik mijn eigen stem op het station gehoord en toevallig ook opgenomen. Deze opnames heb ik in deze korte video gebundeld, als een blijvende, persoonlijke herinnering en bewijs dat ook ik ooit 1 van de stemmen van het station was.
🇬🇧 Since the end of 2021, Karin is 'the voice' of all railway stations in the Netherlands. Prior to that, the automated announcements were handled by Tuffy, who was introduced at Dutch railway stations right after the turn of this century.
Although Tuffy had already taken over a large portion of the announcements from real announcers, until the end of 2021 a small group of real announcers were still working for NS and responsible for monitoring train traffic and providing correct and quick travel information, including announcements that Tuffy couldn’t handle because of technical reasons.
I was one of those people. I started at the Travel Information department in 2017, when the automation process was already going strong. In the course of 2021 I started working elsewhere within NS. At the end of 2021, Karin, the new voice of the station, took over both the position of Tuffy and that of the last people behind the buttons.
Several times during my time at the Travel Information department I heard my own voice at the station and was able to record it. I bundled these recordings in this short video, as a personal memory and proof that I was once one of those railway station voices.
