The Royalton Branch is another local branchline that I have shot a few times over the years. It has a few interesting features to it. First off, it's only about 22 miles long yet it is controlled by 3 different dispatchers (NS Terminal Dispatcher from PAXTON to ROY, Amtrak CTEC controls ROY interlocking, and NS River Line dispatcher from ROY to SHOCKS). It also runs along the same right-of-way as the Amtrak Keystone Corridor between PAXTON and ROY - it actually ducks under Amtrak near the Harrisburg Airport as well.
As for train activity, it isn't terribly busy, as most trains pass through Enola on the opposite bank of the Susquehanna River. The only "definite" train movements are the single pair of intermodal trains, 24M and 23W. There is also a local freight from Lancaster that uses the Royalton to access the Middletown and Hummelstown interchange twice a week. Besides that, the only other common trains are unit oil or coal trains which may use the Harrisburg fuel pad and bypass Enola altogether.
This video only contains a few shots of the normal trains, most of the trains seen here are special movements.
