NS15M & NSX Naginata are Still the Best NSO LMGs | NSO Gameplay | PlanetSide 2

Everything has already been said about the NS15M, it's simply one of the best LMG in the game.
The NSX Naginata is also strong and should not be overlooked! It's just not your regular pointholder weapon, with the correct attachments it's excellent in any situation.

I love the naginata, it feels like my gu n is on rails. Definitely my favorite 'lane holding' weapon. And probably my favorite overall lmg. I feel like many people use it wrong by standing still, imo underrated

@@SalandFindles standing still /crouching with the naginata can be situationally good. Like in a lane holding situation. Or nailing long range moving planetmen. But otherwise standing still invites you to get triple dinked out of existence.

Great vid! I want to ask tho, I notice you are still tapcrouching a lot, wasn't that fixed in a patch half a year ago? And you either need to crouch for longer or to full crouch to make it work? I might be mistaken, but that's what I was told by other experienced infantry players.

impressive, as always tell me, does the black dot that appears when aiming down sites help?

Thank you! The black dot is just the yellow dot colored in black in the UserOptions.ini file. Doing this kinda reduces the opacity of the dot, which helps on the NSO gun since their dots are so big, imo. The difference is not huge but I like it better that way.

I record with Nvidia Experience. The fps counter is from the Steam overlay, but there is one in-game to, just press Alt+F or write /fps in chat.

Did the Armory update change your attachment choices for both the NS-15 and Naginata? And did the change to Nanoweave change your HA loadouts at all?

I haven't tested both guns with the new attachments so I can't say for now. From what I gathered and tested with other weapons, I don't think they would do any good on them. As for Nanoweave, it's a very drastic change, I simply don't use it anymore. Right now on my heavy I'm using resist shield with advanced shield capacitor, with assimilate and mobility mesh implants. It's working great.

You could use it since it's better now, but I personally don't, the NS15 is already very accurate, I feel like it's not useful. Plus I don't like to see the weapon flash.

Great vid. Big fan of both lmgs. Depending on the size of the fight sometimes I'll run ext mag instead of laser. I don't think I've ever ran the flash suppressor on it what are the pros and cons of using that barrel attachment?

Thank you! Flash supp removes the weapon flash but makes you appear on the minimap at a further distance. I always use it when available.

You're right I don't think it matters much in low settings.

I always think. If the enemies facing you and a teammate, and you have a flash suppressor and he doesn't... The eye is drawn to contrast, so they'll probably engage the flashing danger first. It's certainly true that's how the human brain works, but whether it works in video games I'm not sure. Anyway, that's why I use it when available, I presume it increases my survivability a bit.

What loadout are you using these days? I should specify: what HA loadout are you running with that implant combination?

Same as always: Adren with nanoweave. Athlete works well to compensate for the speed reduction. Sometimes I run resist with ASC, with mobility mesh and assimilate, but it's not quite as good imo. As for the weapons, I'm playing NSO most of the time and I don't have a go to weapon yet. In the long run it would probably be the NS15M, it's not like we have plenty options anyway x)

Even with the laser sight, doesn't the naginata still have one of the worst hip fire accuracies of all LMG's? Also seeing as it's unique ability is that it resets it's CoF every time you stop even for a millisecond, allowing you to essentially "burst move" while constantly firing(maybe even crouch during those stops if it still works ofc), would that mean it would work well with something like fortify (one of the only ways to get small arms resistance nowadays)?

Yes because on 143 damage model, at a certain range, soft point allows you to kill with one less bullet, because of the max damage range buff. But with 150 damage this benefit is very little, the base damage being higher. High velocity brings much more in comparison. I hope this makes sense lol.

if i weren't a TR main i would definitely use them more but TR has better LMG's for both of their roles; for NSO both of these do their job great, they are always reliable but the standard LMG outshines them, in fact it outshines all the LMG's in the game for mid-range fights imo

Every attachment works with the NS15, but I mainly use two setups: - Flash supp, forward grip, soft point ammo - Suppressor, forward grip, high velocity ammo A lot of players use the laser sight, I do too sometimes but overall the fg is better imo.

Lol i sympathize, im a trashcan with a beating heart and still play. Found that if you use a 1X, burstfire, drop the quality real low (i have a potatotop), tinker with the navidia game filters to improve visibility (damn vanu!), and use a crosshairs mod you can get your KD to 1:1 >_

I like the naginata but I have to 1000% disagree with you about not using a fg and compensator. I think players are using it wrong if they don’t. That’s the weapons strength, power play it. It has crappy hip fire and the laser just takes it from crappy to marginal for hip fire so I fell I am wasting a slot on it. I just monkey stomp players with fg/compensator for easy head shots. I get told I am hacking or players get salty....nope fg and compensator for those easy headshots I tell them. But hey, each to their own, work what is best with your game style.

Thanks for your comment. As you said, to each their own. I don't use fg and compensator because it goes against my playstyle, and I can do fine without it. It's kinda like the meta loadout for the Saw, which is laser sight and suppressor, I imagine a lot of players would still prefer fg and compensator on it.
