I worked in that factory for 16 years. When I started in 1985 I believe there was 12,000 people working there, when I left in 2001 it had doubled. Boeing was good to me and great pay & compensation, but I’ve never regretted leaving either.

It was not a great tour. I had the expectation I would see some sort of assembly. There was none. We did not see any work being done . Oh yeah, great to see the parts but that was it. Did more walking down tunnels then watching the factory floor. Not worth the money. Other parts and assembly are in a different city.

The major fabrication and assembly happens in smaller shops around the factory and around the country and world. The major assembly happens inside the plane out of sight, and the final assembly bay is mostly wiring and interiors. They’re dropping in a set of wings every few days not every tour run.
