Jive and Justin sabotaged his chances. He was given no budget or real financial support! Also, they forced him to scrap the music he ACTUALLY wanted to release for his first album. The new management didn’t want JC to release a heavy focused R&B album (because Justin beat him to it)! This is why his solo album was all over the place, they just threw a lot of random songs together (most of which he didn’t even want). His unreleased sophomore album reflects what Jc REALLY wanted…,but again Jive screwed him, so he took his music and left. Is it any wonder why he doesn’t want to perform or record anymore?

@@tormentors There is a podcast of producer Alex Gregg’s talking about this. So, it’s not like JC wasn’t unaware that his voice is better suited (not that he already doesn’t sound amazing singing any other genre) for R&B. He also didn’t get to have a choice on first pick of producers to collaborate on like how Justin was given the red carpet treatment. Original management had a vision to support JC and turn him into a household name “Slow Burn” artist (like Whitney, Sting, Richard Marx). Their vision for Justin was to set him up to be a “fast burn” artist….make the label a lot of money and then fade away (and you can clearly see it now that him riding the coattails of legendary Black Producers and Songwriters can only get him so far because an artist like that does not age well with their music as new younger generations move onto the next big thing). JC truly was screwed over with bad timing!

Ahh..JC...My favorite performances of his are the ballads and pop gems that you can find when you dig through youtube. Just like the greats like Frank Sinatra and Barbra Streisand collaborated with other artists to make duet albums in their later years, THIS is an album by JC Chasez that I would pay for...... JC Duets Now and Forever.... Now and Forever with Richard Marx or Tony Lucca True Colors with Cindy Lauper Back for Good with Gary Barlow Music of My Heart with Gloria Estefan This I Promise You with Richard Marx Shape of My Heart with Brian Littrell ....What else would you like to hear on this album?
