I am retired and have the time and interest to follow many of these investigations. The NTSB is the best agency when it comes to protecting the interests of the general public. I would like to know what compelling reason exists for allowing Duck Boats to operate in the waters of the United States.

Years ago I was out with my young kids, they were all under 10, I wasn’t planning on going on a duck boat, but we were near one that was driving into the water. I was taken aback by watching this vehicle, 7 to 10 feet of the ground and then what seemed like 90% of it sinking into the water as I watched it go out into the water, I was struck by 3 things. one was how little of the hull was above the water line, how it wasn’t very visible to passing ships, and 3rd, my kids would never be on one.

Smart man you are sir. A very dear friend of mine nearly lost his life when as a U.S. Marine, the amphibious landing craft he was aboard overturned. Poor man has never quite been the same. Those few minutes of the witness video calls to mind what the crew of the freighter Edmund Fitzgerald must have experienced during that Lake Superior storm on November 11th, 1975. Before sinking, she also had a low freeboard, a severe starboard list, waves crashing on deck and over the bow and it even happened around the same time of day, shortly after 1900 hrs. Bless all of their souls. Continue taking care of yourself and family. May Peace be yours.

I did a tour once.... never again.. but the real risk is panic... in good weather...or very calm water its not to bad...just not worth the risk.. I never really consider the risk...most folks don't. .. That has to change

I’m surely the only one to ask, but is there a possibility to add the board meetings (with recess edited) onto the Podcast? The interviews are great, but it could be used for far more purposes.

These were crafts constructed for war, not for safety of 30 untrained paying passengers.

why not radio with NOAA weather alerts..I know that many Marine VHF have weather alert.. Sound like they got away with ignoring weather up until now.

Because with real-time weather info comes real-life liability for the Commonwealth cunts in Canada who "invest" in so-called "industries" like Ride the Deathtraps.

Whenever there is a watch issued, be it thunderstorm or tornado, you keep an eye on the sky and stay in touch with a reliable weather information source through the duration of that watch, (usually six hours) or untill that watch has been cancelled. Especially if you're out on the water. And what was that about a no-cell phone policy? This was an emergency in the making. Call me brother. Call me.

It is pointless to call for a second for a small board. Robert’s Rules of Order does not require it.
