Hey just a bit from a CBRN in the army. Non permeable suits are the better option when dealing with nuclear fallout/ radiation. Anything that will stop water will stop alpha particles and radioactive dust from reaching your body. Mopp suits like JSLIST are primarily chemical and biological protection and semi permeable and why they are “breathable”

Legitimate question. So if it stops water for the most part then it will stop certain radiation particles, does gor-tex block out radiation? Say if you wore a gor-tex parka and pants over a mopp suit would It be more effective at protecting you from all cbrn threats? Or would something that is completely sealed be the most ideal for radiation.

Aha I see Canadians are wising up to the crossbow! Nice. I’m back in the uk now where believe it or not a pellet gun is now considered a section 2 firearm. (Despite no fire😅) Crossbow which used even half correctly will nail your head to a door. And literally anyone can buy 🤷🏻‍♂️ Wtf uk??! Lol you do know they’re for emergency use, right? Like long enough to where you can go outside to complete a necessary task, then return back inside. They’re not meant for you to go to the grocery store and have a day out on the town shopping. Idk about you but I’d rather have something to get out of the fallout zone (wouldn’t take longer than 40 minutes) than be like everyone else who’s getting exposed to lethal biological/chem/rad weapons.

The M17 mask…. With a filter changing procedure that was more akin to gynecology , you had to wonder what the designers were thinking. If you had a damaged hand/ broken fingers you simply couldn’t do it. The later M40 with screw on exterior Canisters was soo much more useful.

If you’re actually in an environment that has CBRN threats or hazards, this suit lasts 24 hours, then you need to replace it with a new one. Every 24 hours, a new suit. If you’re not currently in a contaminated environment but could be, so you’re wearing it in preparation for an attack, they last about 45 days. Then you need a new one. Once you open the package the suit is in, without wearing it, in an uncontaminated environment, you still only have 120 days before you need to throw it away and get new ones.

You can buy new in the package surplus mopp gear. Just note that is protective qualities come from the carbon liner in the suit. If exposed to air too long modern mopp gears effectiveness diminishes. The old soviet full body condoms don't but they are full body rubber condoms.

Maybe I'm cynical but I get so tired of seeing your shorts or videos. I was into all this stuff years ago thinking I could survive if a nuclear attack occurred. It's not possible to survive, and making videos about how to prepare waiting for doomsday is more depressing than if a nuclear attack wiped out the whole planet. Such a sad existence

All of this stuff is good for small-scale incidents only. Hold out until it's safe-ish again to come out or be prepared enough to leave the affected area safely. Surviving actual nuclear holocaust either isn't possible or a coin toss (or a million) and yeah, probably wouldn't really be much of a life worth living.
