Lori was years light ahead about vocals into extreme metal. Her style its unique. I have never found any other vocalist with such a vast array of expressions. The band were uncatchy, sloppy, all the bad one can think, but still so brutal and original like no one. Its the same thing with Cryptic Slaughter, another band that was "too much" for their audience. This uncompromised bands are real gems.

Cryptic slaughter? I had the album where they were skeletons in jail on the cover. It was like an extremely watered down DRI. Unlistenable. Nuclear Death still hasn't been caught up to and may never be. I'm so glad I saw this fest. I was there for morbid angel (alters of madness era) but ND became the true headliner for me. I am not trying to insult you but I don't see anything pushing any boundaries with cryptic slaughter. Actually to me they are so on bounds, I can't even imagine what you are referring to.

@@johnathonmckenzie7148 "Convicted" by Cryptic Slaughter "watered down DRI"... At '86 DRI was making virulent hardcore punk , "Dealing With It" era. Their best era. Cryptic were in their own league making their own path , with intrincate structures and fast as hell drums. not hardcore, neither metal also not the incoming crossover of those years.. Uniques. Not really caring about engaging audiences, same apply to Nuclear Death. Uncompromised bands who doesnt care about gaining popularity. That is what im saying.

Did you hear of ND first or was MDF1 your introduction to ND. I never heard of them but they became my headliner over morbid angel who hadn't soiled their masterpiece aom yet
