As someone who counts Deftones and Gojira as my two favorite bands, and "Where Owls Know My Name" as one of the greatest albums ever released, "Oh What the Future Holds," especially "Two Towers," is like tailor made to be literally the perfect music for my tastes. I know they're not quite as diverse, but tis pretty much the same story as Tomas Haake from Meshuggah. The amount of writing-range that guy has is absolutely mind-blowing, especially when you consider how far he's come since the early days. Started off as a guy who was frustrated at trying to adapt into their style, but he's ended up being one of the core members, if not *the* core-member. Don't get me wrong. Fredrik and Marten are on my list of favorite guitarists, and Dick Lovgren is my favorite bassist, but they'd be lost without Tomas.

I think what sets this band apart in the genre is that their riffs are actually creative and catchy. Alot of bands in this genre just try to show off their speed and talent without actually producing original sounding music that you want to keep coming back to you. Now, that being said, FFAA is by no means producing music that is only catchy to be catchy, or "selling out" as they say or trying to become "mainstream", they are simply producing original heavy music that is catchy and compelling.
