Nucleum - 2 Player Playthrough & Review

Hello everyone!
It's Nucleum time! Today, we are playing a full 2 player game of Nucleum, the new heavy euro board game from Board & Dice, designed by Simone Luciani and Dávid Turczi.
This is one we have been looking forward to play since it arrived, and we are super excited to share it with you all!
This one is releasing next week during Spiel, and we hope this video will help you find out if the game will be a good fit for you as well.
Two things to note: We are still working on making a "perfect" setup for our limited space, so we know things can still be better when it comes to focus and light. The other, is that the overhead camera stopped filming during the review part, so some examples in that part of the video might be a little hard to follow.

Thanks for sharing. I must say - you two interact very well together in your videos. You allow each other to finish comments and keep interruptions to a minimum. I appreciate your detailed explanations. They are extremely helpful. I was very interested in this game, but was fence sitting. I couldn't decide. Well, that was until hearing your views. I would be playing Nucleum solo or 2-player, so I've decided to give the game a pass.

Thank you both for another great video. Now that I've seen a few videos and read the rules, I don't get the comparisons with barrage, at least when it comes to gameplay. The only points of comparison are the milestones and contract tiles. I will echo what others have said and request a luciani ranking. He is one of my favorite designers, and I think deserves that kind of attention. Another good one would be Vladimir Suchy

Thanks for the playthrough & sharing your thoughts. I have not played Nucleum yet, and I will sure do, but... so far I think it is a good game, but for me it doesn't live up to the huge hype. Curious to see how it will be rated by the community once it is released and we can start playing.

Glad you enjoyed the video :) It’s hard for any game to live up to hype, so I always try to come into games as neutral as possible, no matter how much I am looking forward to it! I cannot say how high this will rise on my all time favorites, but it’s a very solid, pure fun euro game for my tastes :)

Hmm, that is hard! I think all three are best with more than 2! They work well with 2, but you are losing a lot of the interesting interaction! :/

A very interesting question! I like Nucleum a lot, but both Brass games are almost a 10/10 for me (I never thought about their rating), so I like them more than Nucleum!

It has similarities for sure, but is also very differenet! I like them both a lot, but Brass is one of my favorite games of all time!
