Well sir that was a spectacular freight trains 🚆 video 📹, mega awesome captures, and the scenery was breathtaking, wow what a place to see 👀 and record freight trains 🚆, awesome drone footage as well, like to hear more of the trains and a little less music please 🙏 if that's OK 👍, but that was awesome viewing 👍👌👏😎

Thanks Trevor you're too kind! So the biggest drawback of drones is that they do not record audio. This is why the music. Once in a while I'll add train audio to drone footage but it takes a lot more time and effort to do that and make it sound accurate so it's a special treat if I do. I too miss the train sounds which is why I try to shoot video from the ground as much as possible. I know there wasn't much of that in this video though unfortunately.

Impressive drone piloting as always Dan! It's crazy to think of how much Earth they moved to bypass that tunnel!

Nature is really beautiful in Wyoming. It's so cool when the trains are snaking through the canyon, like a huge metal worm. The red soil on certain hillsides is interesting. Trains are pretty long on this line, so I hope malfunctions are not too common in this area. The crews are far from the help out there. Amazing aerial footage Dan.

Drove through here in October as part of a 4 week road trip in the US after staying at Green River WY first a few nights. Scenery is great and it is definitely a far better drive than the interstate. There was enough trains to make it even better. Richard, Melbourne Australia.

That's great Richard and I agree! My better than the interstate.

Absolutely stunning footage, many thanks for your hard work. As an English man the sheer size of these trains is just amazing to see/ Do you know what sort of tonnages they are as 2 thousand tons is a heavy train here. Thank you
@jamiejmasters4818Ай бұрын
20,000 tons and above for bulk commodity freights, with lengths exceeding two miles.

12:25, just noticed that bridge, wonder if it was from an older right of way before a realignment or something.

Looks like something like that.

Same month and locations as Big Boy 4014's trip east! Lots of crazy railfans on that road. Like flies on a dead horse.

Nice video. Just a trivia note, many Pocatello residents pronounce the town (and Subdivision Name) as "Poke-uh-tell-uh." This may be because the name is the English, sometimes inaccurate, phonetic spelling of the Shoshone Indian leader's name.
@TheRailfanDanАй бұрын
Oh interesting thanks! A coworker of mine grew up in Blackfoot just North of there and he pronounces it with 'O' at the end. I would have never guessed.

At 8:54 love the layers of color on the rocks with the creek and the train snaking along. Is that you in the upper left at 9:18? Are you getting snow up in your area now? Beautiful footage once again Dan. Thanks for sharing.
@TheRailfanDanАй бұрын
Thank you and yes that was me. Yes the snow is falling in the mountains close to home which I was able to take advantage of this weekend and am hoping to again this weekend!

At minute 0:27, your're not sure whether it's a siding or a double mainline. It's the Sage siding.

wow Nugget Canyon Wyoming, beautiful country! What's withe the strange looking, uncompleted wall/fence in Fossil? Are all those open areas accessible or federally owned restricted land? Thanks
@TheRailfanDanАй бұрын
I believe they are snow fences to help with snow drifts during the Winter?
@thomasmackowiakАй бұрын
Dan, thank you for another segment from your forthcoming video on Union Pacific's Granger Line. The Nugget Canyonn of Wyoming is a desolate area. There does not seem to be any signs of human habitation. I had to look at Google Maps to see where Kemmerer, Wyoming was. Was that U.S. 30 that was winding its way close to the Union Pacific's tracks throughout the video? (Posted on 1 November 2024 at 2200 CST.)
@RonStanekАй бұрын
Yeah, Thomas, that has to be U.S. 30 that runs along there. Quite a difference from here in Chicagoland..hey!
